Project 82 LT1 in Canada
Hello all,
took the T/A on its first long post rebuild run.. 880 miles up to Canada and then back again.. no hiccups or oil burnt.. handles well at speed
Just wanted to say thanks to all who have helped and post a few pics of the car after its first proper rebuild cleaning in Canada.
BTW the RA2 hood is going as soon as I can get my hands on a RA1..

awesome job, that must have been a pain in the *** putting all the computer stuff in , i can imagine all the wiring , what hell it must have been, do you have any track time with the new engine, did you modify the engine at all of just put the stock lt1 in.looks good and nice rims, you should put a powerbuldge hood on and go for the sleeper look.

Went with a speartech custom wiring harness so the wiring was pretty simple.. the biggest pain as of late has been the electric water pump.. doesn't come with a relay but it needs one.. put that on up in Canada..
as for the engine.. bolt ons.. edelbrock headers, borla catback, comp cams chromoly rockers, holley throttle body, Z06 MAF, holley fuel regulator.. hooking it up are 342 gears with an auburn posi, inland empire aluminum driveshaft, 2500 rpm stall converter..
suspension is redone, baer brakes.. all fun stuff, too expensive..
Hasn't had any track time yet.. feels pretty strong.. high 12s maybe? I know it will make a 4.6 and an older cobra feel like their engine is broken
.. I will probably take it once and then try not to beat on it too much.. it is my daily driver for now and on the grad school budget I can't afford to break it!

So let's get the details.......
What's the total cost of the LT1 to put into the car, etc, etc......
Why are you ditching the Ram Air 2 for a Ram Air 1, the one you have on now, looks sweet.....
Love the whole car.....:hail:.....

Total cost for everything? about 20k over the last few years.. I can break it down if you email me..
880 miles up and back so 1760 miles total..
The RA2 hood? well it is growing on me I am just not sure about the way it sits with the lines of the car.. I have always tried to keep it clean and tidy looking.. I think the RA1 would sit a bit better.. though I may change my mind..
by the way, the older camaro accents you put on your car are really cool..

The T/A is looking pretty sweet.
Are you going to be back for the TTAC show on the 28th? I think you should enter the car in that show.

Nice to see you're getting rid of the RA II hood, but I don't think the RA I would look good either with the 82-84 front end. Your car would look sooo good with a power bulge hood.

Looking good! I wish I could afford to put an LT1 in my car, that must be really nice. I'd have to agree that an RA1 hood would look better than the RA2. The RA2 looks good, but it needs more balance in the back of the car than the RA1 needs. Keep up the good work.
