Got my ROH ZS wheels on today...
Check it out...installed a set of 17x9.5 ROH ZS wheels with Kumho 275/40-17 tires today. Totally changed the look of the car compared to the factory rims...whatcha think? This pic kinda sux 'cause it was overcast outside and I found out my lens was smudged after the fact...but you get the gist of it.

I like those rims. Some people don't like them cause they are "too plain", which happens to be why I like them- nice and simple.
Sweet ride.

Now don't get me wrong, I love those wheels but I think they are getting almost as played out as stock wheels...It seems like everyone is getting them ever since GMHTP put them on there project F-Body. Just my $.02
The only thing im worried about getting 9.5 inch wide rims is my paint job . My iroc wheels brings up every peble as it is onto the quarter and alrdy got 1 lil dent from this so im sure 9.5 will make it even that much worse.

Well.....there's a problem. My passenger-side front wheel is digging into my tie rod. It lightly gouged the inside rim of the wheel before I could figure out where the noise was coming from. What's really bad is that it's hitting ALL the time, not just when I turn. The driver-side front wheel only clears by about 1/16", so I'm a little concerned about it, too. I'm gonna call jdwheels.com today and see what they say, since I specifically asked if this would be a problem and they told me it wouldn't be. I'll keep you posted...

wow, they look really sharp on there.
i've seen these on adam's 92 formula (he did the 3rdgen video) and i like them.
roshambo bought a set of the roh zs and put them on his 94 z28, they work well on the 4thgen as well.
i like them, plus they're not hideously expensive either, correct?

I love those wheels and would like to put them on my purple haze '92. What off-set are they and are the front and back wheels still non interchangeable like the stock ones?
Also if it is not too intrusive, give me a ball back figure on what you paid for them and did you need spacers?
Thanks.

A -07mm all the way around takes care of the rotation problem. That is good to know. Thanks Tim. That helps a lot. And that seems like a pretty good price for 17' ZS's.

Yes, it's a very good price. Best that I could find on those wheels in that size and they are very nice people to deal with. I spoke with a lady named Kim. She knew exactly the size I needed for my car.

Sorry for the slow response...I was out of town. Anyway, the set of ROH ZS 17x9.5 wheels were $930 shipped to my door from JD Wheels complete with chrome lugnuts and valve stems. I had them installed at Big 10 Tires for $80, which includes lifetime rotation and balance. The rims are the same offset all the way around...I believe the backspacing is 5.45". That was one of the big deciding factors that helped me choose these wheels over a set of 17" IROC wheels...you can actually rotate them!
Oh, here's an update: I called Kim @ JD Wheels and explained what was going on with the front passenger wheel making contact with the tie rod end. She said they have never had anyone encounter this problem before, but they recommended bolting on a pair of 3-4mm spacers to give them a little clearance. I had Summit Racing throw in some spacers with the rest of the parts I just ordered this weekend for my 350 HO swap I'm doing on Saturday. Hopefully that will take care of it...anyone else have this problem?

Looks good 17s are just about the perfect diameter.
How much was the spacers? I have a set of 88-90 IROC rims on my S10 and with 255-50-16 on the rear I get some rubbing on the inside frame rail. A small spacer would be all i need. Or if i could find some who wanted to trade my rear set for a front set.

The spacers are from Mr. Gasket and they are 7/32" thick...here's the URL:
http://store.summitracing.com/partde...=16956&from=MG
I may end up milling them down to a little bit narrower thickness...JD Wheels recommended a max of 4mm spacers, which is 0.157" while 7/32" is 0.219". I'll just bolt 'em up and make sure I've got sufficient thread engagement with the lugnuts.

Thanks Bulldog92...Let me know how they workout with the thread length. That would be just right for my S10 it only rubs when i take a fast corner. I never hear it just see were it took the undercoating off.

Well, I got the spacers bolted on...not sure if I'm going to leave them the 7/32" thickness or not. I'm waiting to hear back from Kim @ JD Wheels as to whether they think I will have proper thread engagement. Just looking at the studs, I don't think that I do. I took it for a little test drive and it definitely corrected my rubbing problem, but I just don't know if my wheels are properly supported. Anyway, here are some pics of the damage I experienced:

I'll post again when I hear back from JD Wheels.

Amazing how much of a difference in appearance it makes yeah? I felt the same way when I went from 15's to IROC 16's on my 89 RS. The ROH ZS's on my 91 Z had the same marks on the inner part of the rim, but on the rears instead of the fronts. I also ran a small spacer. I think the markings and rubbings have alot to do with ROH using very odd offsets to get the wheel as flush with the body as possible. In other words, they are right at the point of sticking out but not quite there. Cutting it close!!

Caint you grind that part of the tierod? Looks like it would need only a little taken off shouldnt hurt anything. Hit it with some chassis black paint afterwards.

I thought about that...but I just wan't too wild about grinding on it and possibly weakening the tie rod or something. Has anyone else done this with success?
