Home made clear coat removal
Does anyone here know of a home made method with stuff laying around that will remove clear coat from aluminum? I did a search and all I got was products to buy.

I don't know if it'll work, but you can try brake fluid

MOONSHINE!
No, just spend the money to get the proper stuff. Trust me, when you try to do things to be cheap, you end up doing more damage which will cost you more money in the end.
Screwing up the little things to stay cheap is really a PITA.

Oven cleaner will remove annodizing from aluminum, but I doubt it would work on clearcoat. If your clearcoat doesn't look good though, try it, what have you got to lose?
