Chrome looks so friggin cheap. Chroming crap that was never supposed to be chrome is even worse. Chroming plastic crap that was never supposed to be chrome ranks right up there with curb feelers and **** floor mats.

I highly highly reccomend using the Zoopseal, sure its 130.00 and you'll have lots left over to use on other parts, it will keep the shine held in the aluminum for a very long time, it wont turn yellow, and it wont peel. All the matienence will be spent putting some windex"amonina free" to keep the coating surface clean.

The 82 will be a show car. So it will only be driven to shows or for Pimpin
I'm polishin crazy I know
I kinda like the idea of polishing the top, it would be one heck of an eye catcher.
Could someone photoshop a polished top on a t'top car????

A frien of mine chromed his cylinder barrels (steel) on a Harley, and they started to rust after jut a couple of days. Chrome has a lot of pore's in them and don't protect the steel against rusting very good. The nice chromed parts which dont rust, are often made out of brass. In some occations they apply something they call 3 coated chorome, which is supposed to be a stating layer of copper. But my own experience with chrome is that it's expensive, dont hold up like original chrome, and in the end of the day, just crap.
Aluminum is a much better medium to polish, but the best is of course stainless steel. I have experience on building Harleys, and stainless is the only material you get what you pay for, because its the only who lasts.
But chroming parts of a car? Thats a big no no... it wouldn't be cheap either. But if it is, then you can be shure it's crap chrome anyway..

I like a car to be one complete color......
A chrome targa top or fender vents???
The only thing you need chrome are the front grill, rims and the exhaust tips......everything else, another color.....

Where you talking about the fender vent or the whole fender. Because thats a big difference... If your only talking about the vent, go for it. If it dont look good, no problem, just swap it out. But fenders and doors..lol no no. Black and chrome is always good together, maybe a vent wont look so bar if only the wheels are just as bright.
But you know, once you start with chrome, it has a tendency to need to be more and more...you can never stop after that.

Chroming body panels on a car would be crazy and expensive. Audi had a concept car in the early 90's that was all chrome. Or actually now that I think about it I think it was polished aluminum...since audi is known for using aluminum.
Mods the following pictures are just to give an idea to what a car that was chromed would look like.

The chrome idea sounds like it belongs up there in lowriderz'ville. Need to get some gold on there now too, and some 13" wires with white walls, better yet....some 22's!
Actually, I'm just teasing, but honestly, down in Va i see old Chevy Caprices, and Impala's with lile the whole front end chromed....And it just does'nt look right...to me anyways. But they say beauty is in the eye of the beholder....(beerholder?)
