Buffing T-Tops/Tail Lights/ and what not

I would like to clear up my T-Tops so they have a beautiful mirror like finish, I've been browsing around and seen many different steps that people took to do their Ts and Tail Lights....however I do not have a buffing wheel, and would like to purchase a good one that I can use for all my car care needs including glazing & waxing...so my questions for you are...

What is a good orbital buffer that I should invest in for the long run? I heard Makita is excellent?

Is it safe for me to use to apply and buff wax off the car, as well as glaze it? (I'll save the compounding to the professionals.) Can I "burn" the car by using the buffer?

What are the steps for me to take to make my T-Tops beautiful? (I believe they are made my a company called Lexamar.)

What are the steps for me to take to make my Tail Lights beautiful?

And finally...can these things be done without screwing anything up if I'm careful, and don't use the buffing wheel at a high speed?

Thank you for any help and advice you may provide.

Well, If I were you, assuming you don't get any help from your thread...I'd call an auto glass shop and ask them. They will know of something. I'll look around and see what I can;t find out for you.

Do you have the Lexan Ttops?

I would probably start sanding at 1000 wet, then 1500 wet, then 2000 wet. You just bring a bucket of water with you and dip the paper in it, then start sanding.

I would like to see some insight from those who have wetsanded and polished their Ttops though, incase I am wrong.
