my goal

i had some different cars in the past, and all i can say is, the more power you have under the hood, the more problems you'll have with the car in any way. I purchased my car because i like the look of it and i did modifications only for the looks. If i wanted a fast mover, i'd buyed anything but a thirdgen. Let's face it, a thirdgen 'vert is not made for a powerful engine, period. I can live with the slow tbi engine, it's a reliable good and runs ok. But i could NEVER get used to some crappy 15 or 16 inch wheels and the typical thirdgen SUV Fendergap.

Nicely put Graboid!!

You could start a new thread on that SUV fendergap issue on a thirdgen......IMO closing the gap makes the car more desirable.

Question Graboid......when say you cut your springs ........Is it true cutting the spring effects the spring performance?.......I know using heat to cut the spring........... damages the spring.

the best way to drop a thirdgen as much as it takes to look good (2 1/2 to 3 inch) is with a set of drop spindles in combination with eibach pro-kit. Since the drop spindles are hard to find i decided to cut my intrax 2inch drop-springs. This brought back some of the dashboard noises i got rid of with the installation of stb/sfc/wb in the first place. But now the car looks better than 95% of all thirdgens, stancewise. The ride is hellish and rough, but i wanted the look, and paid the price. I would do it again
