ZR1 wheels.....How can I fit 17x11's out back???

These wheels are pretty easy to come by these days for a good price, so I was wondering If there is anyway to fit 11 inches wide in the back without super modifications. I have all the necessary equipment to do pretty much anything, but I don't want to chop the car up too bad.

My dad owns a body shop so I could even widen the fenders if I needed to. I'll be running over 450 horsepower but still want 17's. So I'm gonna need at least 11 inches of rubber back there.

Has anyone done this???with this wheel????

save yourself the trouble and search.....the topic has come up many times.

what makes you think you'll need 11's. the tire itself is what really determines wether or not you'll hook. you will have to do alot of work to make it look good. stock height they will work with no problems but it will be very easy to tell that something isn't right.

good luck.

they can fit..

you need to have the backspacing spot on..measure for your exact car... everyone seems to come up with somthing slightly diffrent.

then you need to trim the outer lip and roll the remaining edge..

a light smack on the top of the wheel well with a hammer may be needed so that when the car bottoms out the wheel doesnt rub..

also, a adjustable panhard bar is sometimes needed if the axle isnt close enough to center... when the car moves thru its suspension movement, the axle actually moves a lil to the side... that can cause it to rub..

otherwise, they fit.. and IMO look badazz

i doubt you will find a tire that will not only look good but hook well on a set of 17" rims. i will be running aprroximatly 500hp at the fly wheel and i will be running only a 15x8. cool thing is is that i can put a 28x10.5 slick on it for cheap and hook all day long...

everyone has different opinions of what looks good.

for the street i have no problems running 18's at the track it's a different story and a nice set of 16's with some good tires works well.

15's are definately not an option with larger brakes even if one wanted to unfortunately. the only reason i would want 15's is the amount of money you save which is unreal to the larger sets.

here is an angle to show how the 9.5 front and 10.5 rear fits. this is with a slight amount of body work with the rim in as far as it possibly can go. 11's would stick out that much more.
