Need to remove door bumbers......

I have a white camaro which has black door bumbers on the edge of the doors (obviously). I want to remove them but not sure how wasy it is to wash off the adhesive underneath it. Is it easy to take that stuff off, and will it look good if I do take it off?

If you're not sure what I'm talkin about here's pics of my car....

3M Adhesive Remover. I'd soak the area before peeling it off to avoid peeling paint off. That stuff took the stickest goo off my center console after I took the carpet off.

Correct me if i'm wrong.....

Has anyone here had success in removng the side molding(door bumpers) with any success...

I know when i removed mine, it brought alot of paint with it.......

Everyone i know that removed it, did a re-paint at the same time, so i don't think you can just remove it and expect to have nice paint underneath there......

Mine came off ok- just the paint over the rusted areas came off . But-- the rest of the paint (med, blue) has faded so you can see where the molding was. Haven't tried buffing the old faded paint, but looks better than that black strip.

warming mine up with a heat gun made it a snap, a gooey mess, but a snap, no paint loss.

mine was actually bolted on to the freaking door... so i had to take that off and i am now working on covering the holes since i don't plan on putting them back on... i might just bondo it or weld a small plate through the inside or something... after i am done with the body i just... well... park WAAAAY the hell out there in parking lots so that no *******s hit my car...

Im not talking about the stuff on the actual side of the door. Im talking about the edge of the door, theres a black rubber bumber type thing on it which in the summer starts to melt off, and it tends to slide down the edge of the door. Just trying to clear things up.

yeah... i removed that too... i hated that little trim... it was starting to slide off everytime someone would shut the door and the weather here didn't help either, it looks a lot better without that on there, it looks smooth and i have had no problems without it there...

Metholated spirits is really good for removing things like that and it will not hurt the paint job. Get a dropper or small cloth and soak it and then putll it off ever so slowly. Maybe a hair dryer to get it started.
