92 Heritage Camaro's with different hoods

I don't know how many of them are lingering in this board, but if you have pics of them including the stripes (to keep the heritage look) can you post them here, I'd like to see them.

Thanks guys, I'll post the SS one that I wanna get the hood and get it painted that way too...

I've seen a 92 RS around here that has a cowl hood and the orange anniversary stripes...looks really nice. I personally love the SS hood....but the picture you posted of the Red Z28....I don't like how those stripes just cut right through the hood...looks like the stripes take away from the SS scoop. It would look tons better (to me) if maybe the outlined it or followed the contour of the SS scoop.

I was thinking of taking the parts on the scoop that are red and keeping them black instead of the red insides. I think it would look good with the stripes if they weren't so broken up looking.

if i had an rs and didn't care about resale value i would definately do it!

z28 on the other hand i wouldn't as that hood is one of the best looking designs.

well see that's all I got, is an RS... I plan on keeping the original hood anyway, just putting it in storage, thus not even harming resale, of course I have my car to drive not sell.. I put the 350 in since I didn't care about resale, (but the 5.0 is still in my crawl space too... )

do what you like...you definately don't care about resale with the drivetrain swap so it doesn't matter. you've already lowered the value so have at it!

It lowers the value even if you still have all the original stuff sitting in your basement? Not that I care anyway, I'm just curious..

the minute you take it apart and change things your value drops....that's if the investor or buyer can tell. most people who would be willing to pay higher collector prices will easily be able to tell. you shouldn't have bought a 3rdgen for investment anyway. have fun with it.

I dunno about that. That is Brads car above ( I think) and I would definatly buy that for $6 k (engine aside lets pretend its a stock 350 or 305) than a completly stock maro for 5k. It looks better, why not pay more?

your looking at it the wrong way....and typically the 25th would be alot more then that side by side. you have a 1,000 difference in paint and hood alone so that would be very reasonable if that were the case. no point in drawing it out.

go do it!

I do intend to have fun with it, I never bought it as an investment, it's always been for me. I actally would like to take everything in it out eventually and run an LS1 engine with the 6 speed standard found in 02 camaro's. I think that'd be fun, but that's the project for after college.
