House of Kolor

Anyone try house of kolor paint? i am going to repaint my z this winter and am still debating paint types may go with something crazy out of the normal for the project car. was thinking chrome illusion. House of kolor has kamelion which is very much the same but seems to have better resources for a novice. tech manuals and such. any input is great thanks in advance.

The color shifting pigment is the same no matter what paint company you get it from. There's only one company that makes it. Obviously the paint itself is slightly different from brand to brand though. HOK stuff is top quality paint, and should provide great results.

I've always been amazed with the results of HOK paint, but, I'm no expert.

I have used only Dupont or Martin Senour, but I am going to try House of Kolor next time as i think they have a lot of different products to make your paint stand out, especially color wise. Here is a web site where you can see and buy all of their products:

Hope This Helps

i love it, a little more expensive depending on what you go with but they have some of the most beautiful colors. a little harder to paint with some colors more then others.

one of the finest......

House of color is one of the finest custom paints on the market. Like Kandied91z they are a little more exspensive, but if done properly, well worth the additional money. Some of their colors are magnificent. But keep one thing in mind, some of your more outragious colors are very exspensive and somewhat difficult for a in-exsperienced painter. I suggest you go to your local paint store & ask the counter tech their opinions. Tell them what you have in mind and look at some color chips & get a few prices. There is a few other companies out there that are also selling some really cool colors & effects with their paints. One that comes to mind that is a little cheaper than House of Color is the X-otics line. I have seen a few of their new colors, pearls & effect & they have some really neat stuff that is somewhat cheaper. Good Luck & let me know what you decide to do.

I do a lot of little custom work on the side. Alot of welding motorcycle helmets, tanks, motor parts, suspension parts, motorcycle frames and i personally have only used house of kolor. If you can spray or find someone who can lay down a real good paint job go for it ususally the results are stunning. Hopefully i can make some good cash here soon and start doing some full cars. I have two people already that i did helmets and a hood for that want me to do there full car.

Yes i have used House of Kolor paint, its is indeed top quality. My dad used some on his bike and it looks awesome. In fact that is the only paint i've seen Jesse James use in Monster Garage, so its got to be top notch.

it's definately a nice product but just because you read about it or see it doesn't mean much. most shows and magazines get the products for free so of course they are going to promote it. just so happens HOK is a good quality paint.
