Paint car - Before or After engine swap?

I'm ready to swap my engine out and was wondering if I should go ahead and paint my car first or wait till after the swap?

Something tells me to wait till after but I wanted to get your opinions....thx

Wait till after the engine is in to do the outside. If your going for the nice engine compartment, paint the engine bay beofre the engine goes in.

yeah I know its easier to put $$$$ in a car when its all nice and pretty(painted) looking, but as he said it makes more sence to do the paint after so you wont get unwanted scratches etc.

good luck! show us pics when she's done

I vote for during as well. I built my motor and now the car is at the body shop getting painted. Once done in goes the engine.

i would say paint the bay with the engine out and then paint the outside after. no matter how careful paint is very soft for the first month.
