To C5 or not to C5... that is the Question
This is an opinion thread intended for other F-Body owners. I just got my hands on some 2000 C5 Corvette Wheels with tires for dirt cheap. It was such a good deal that I couldn't pass it up, they are from a 2k Vette so they are 18s in the back and 17s in the front.
I saw pics of Topless92RS's RS with 2k C5 Wheels and I was amazed at how clean it looked, so basically instead of selling them I'm planning on putting on the Vette wheels. It will be expensive because A) The spacers aren't cheap and B) 275/40/ZR18s aren't cheap either
Just curious of what other people thing, shall it be a "Go for it!" or a "No Way." I'm hung in the air, that's why I'm asking for the advice/opinions of you 'oh so helpful people.'

go for it , your car would look good with them . You will get worse traction than you have now because of the low pro rear tires but the car should handle better. And it will definately look better. I saw go for it. You could put in a 4th gen rear end and then only have to buy front spacers.

True, I've considered it but I haven't gone out to actually price a fourth gen rear. It might be worth looking into. I know for a fact that I'll be replacing the rotors with cross-drilled rotors and I'll be painting the rear-drums black so they don't stick out like a sore thumb, those 2k C5 Wheels don't leave much to the imagination as far as all the goodies that are found behind the wheel.

though I thought even if you had a 4th gen rear end on you'd be an inch short on either side still? 2" spacers for 4th gen/C5 rims on 3rd gen rear end - the 4th gen rear end is 4" wider? I guess I'll just have to get out my measuring tape..

Hey man go for it, I paid 250 for my rear and something like 150 for my front spacers, and all I get are compliments on mine!! You won't regret it, I don't think I could go back to the original rims!:lala:

I appreciate all the compliments, I should be getting them put on by the end of November or the first few weeks of December. I've got my headers project (for those of you who frequent the exhaust forums) that needs to be paid for around the time too, so it all just comes down to time and money... then again that is what almost all projects come down to
Thanks again,
