k i dont no the name or else i would have done a search so sorry if this came up before many time. what i am talking about it those long plastic things that i am guessing people step on because they have grip things on them, there is on on each side on the floor were the door closes. i seen pics with alot of imports and trucks haveing steel/chrome ones i want to get a set, were do get them and what r they called. also do they have any with z28 on them?? thank

They are called door sills. I've seen them in catalogues. I know that Classic Industries has them (but for third gen, I think they only have the drivers side?). Check Hawks. Also, check eBay. I got a pair off eBay because one of mine was cracked. Check a junk yard, also. 
PS - I would advise against actually stepping on them.
Seems to make them crack. Be careful with them. Until they're really reproduced, anyway.

there is a guy on ebay that makes them out of aluminum. do a search for them on ebay. couldn't tell ya his name, but he is making them for pretty cheap.
