Paint question

Ok I need some help from all you lovely people here. I am starting to think about what mods and stuff I am going to do to my Z. I am thinking about going with the Z-28 turbo body kit and the Iroc turbo hood. I am pretty set on getting those two things. The one big question I have is will the factory ground efx work on this body kit? Now for the paint question. My camaro is black with the silver or gray ground efx. I was thinking of painting it black again and fading the black about half way down the body into the gray. What do you think? How do you think that would look? Maybe not half way down the body but a little above the ground efx. If there are any helpful tips or suggestions you have feel free to post them. If you just want to make a smart *** comment that doesn't help at all keep it to yourself or post it somewhere else. Thanks for all your help.

paint question

good looking ride!

If you fade the black into the silver above the ground effects, aren't you afraid that the paint fade will make the effects kinda disappear by drawing the focus to the fade? The effects really stand out in silver against the black car. Just a thought!

Thanks for the compliment Kakarot. I was looking last night in the Paddock parts catalog that I have and I have decided I am not going to get the turbo kit. I can get the front fenders and the rear quarters for a lot less than that kit costs. So that will give me more money for other things. Now that you bring up the point of taking away from the efx's with the fade I think you are right. I think it would draw the attention away from them. Anyone got any other things I should do to it? I want to make it show ready, but I would also like to do a couple things to it to make it a little faster and sound a little meaner. Before a guy told me to change the ignition, the headers, the exhaust, and the cold air intake. Any other things I should do? How hard is it to change out the front fenders? Can any idiot with a wrench take them off and put the new ones on? I read somewhere that when redoing a car to align the body panels back to front. Do you need to do that or can I swap out the front fenders and then take it somewhere and have the rear quarters welded on and paint the car? Thanks for the help guys and gals. When I start my project I will take pictures every now and then to give an update.
