Hey..
I drove my little 2.8er with the MPFI on it, then my buddy's 91 RS with the 305 TBI, then a carbed 350.
All 4 speed autos.
My conclusion is his canr and mine have basically the same accelleration, the main diff is his does so with authority.
A 350 is just great, you feel like you could drive through a wall.
The hill is the ultimate judge of the engine

with a 350 w/just a hair under 400 H.P. but Like said above my 91 is a nicer car than my 83 so 305 for now and 350 later...
point being----> enjoy what ya got wether its 305 or 350

Thanks guys it looks like for the most part everyone is forget the past type of people and thats cool. My whole thing when i was looking for a new ride was 89+ good body, fairly low miles, NOv6's and i wanted ttops. The only thing i didnt get was the ttops but the bodies straight and it runs strong. I like it more than the bird comfort wise it seems more comfortable with speed and its probaly because its 6 years newer and sits lower, wider tires bigger motor etc. Plus it has a much more comfortable interior the leather seats might be trashed but so far no spring pokes to the ***! Got my alarm with keyless entry on today still figuring that out.

Just my opinion i would drop the 4in cowl idea and get the joengblood hood. it is sweet as hell and keeps the original body lines. like i said my opinion but otherwise sweet ride

No ttops isn't always bad... a lot leak, and if you are going to build some good torque, some had body twist (like my 84 Z... I had stress cracks on the roof!)

As far as the rest of the BS going on in this post irocbuilder congrats for being a man and taking responsibility for your idiocy, But may I suggest until your reputation gets a makeover not talking about so many maybe's, (Like maybe it has a 350), get your facts and post real info not guesses because people here who were familiar with the past nonsense will jump all over you because you sound to wishy washy. Good luck its a great looking car.

to me i think the car looks very well and has alot of potential if i were you id put a 4inch cowl hood on it and a z28 high rise spoiler in the back, 2 inch drop and black outs in the rear and it would look killer.
