affordable rims that expose the brakes...?
hey guys, im lookin for some rims that will expose my brakes. right now ive got stock gold honeycomb gta rims on, but theyre in pretty bad shape and i want something else...
im planning on gettin ed millers c4 brake kit with painted callipers...dunno what color yet though. but in any case, i figured if i have c4 brakes i might as well show them off
i dont wanna spend a lot more than $500 to get the rims on the car, im poor and in school
pics of my car are in the sig (without the junk yard rims
)

The 91/92 z28/ v8 RS wheels have large openings, and are a bolt on and fairly easy/inexpensive to come by.

also, i dont really think the look of the z28 rims would be nice on my car
edit: lol...tirerack.com seems to have a picture of a trans am when you chose 91/92 chevy camaro...but they dont have the stock rims anyway.

You did not say if you were looking for 15's 16's or 17's but for $500 I will assume your looking for 15's. www.jdwheels.com has 15 inch ROH snypers on special right now for $125 each and half price on shiping on ROH wheels. The snypers show off your brakes nicley.

Forgot to add the pic of my Snypers and brakes. By the way, I know your on a budget but I would save a couple extra hundred dollars and get 17's. You will be alot happier in the long run.

(Or 18's...
)The Eagle Alloy 77 Series aren't bad, I was considering them a while back due to the fact that they're not too spendy. LowCamaro has them in 18" on his and they look real sharp.

I think the 17's are like $750 for a set if I remeber right. I'm with Kadied, I don't really care for the look of the staggered size wheels. I think 17's look perfect on thirdgens, but with certain wheels 18's look good to. In my opion I would never go any bigger than a 18 on a thirdgen.
Forgot to mention, check out the above site that carries ROH wheels. They make a few nice looking styles. The ROH ZS wheels are pretty nice and you can get a set of 17's for like $580.00

the problem with eagle is you get what you pay for.....on a daily driver don't expect the finishes to last, especially chrome. on a weekend cruiser though you could make them last. winter ruins them very quickly with the cheaper finishes.

i found some nice rims for pretty cheap: http://www.tacreationsusa.com/firebird.htm
all the rims below the "95-97 Trans Am & Formula, 96-02 Firebird, 95 Optional Firebird 5-Spoke Wheels" are pretty nice, and they are around $500. one question though...regarding the backspacing. will they fit?

the larger the rim you put on the more ride quality you sacrafice. the larger the rim the less tire and lower profile sidewall means it rides much stiffer on small bumps....not so good for a daily driver. although a smaller sidewall increases handling. its a trade off.
