Actually, here's what I would do first... You could go the paint route, fusion, whatever, but it'll eventually scratch, peel, whatever.
First off, what condition is the item? Are we talking deep gouges? You're talking about the rear hatch plastics. If they have gouges in them, you're not going to repair them at all, because they're still going to have the texture removed where the scratch is. If I were you, I'd smooth them (sand them smooth). Then you could paint them a custom color or something and make them look gloss, or you could carpet over them if you don't like the flashy sport truck look.
If we're talking plastic that's untextured, the first thing I would do is smooth out any deep gouges with sandpaper. Then try Black Magic's foam spray. It has plasticizers in it that work wonders on plastic. I am a total advocate of this stuff. I took a really sunfaded heater box out of a junk yard, like what you see in the Armorall commercials, and sprayed it with black magic, and it looked like new, and even had a nice scent!
Try Black Magic first, because then you at least have the original plastic. I didn't try Black Magic first on my radiator shroud, and I painted it with Krylon Fusion paint. I really wish I hadn't, because the Black Magic probably would have repaired it nicely. I know someday I'll be working under the hood and scratch the paint on the radiator shroud, but you can't harm the original plastic beyond leave another scratch. A scratch in paint will show up and look worse.
