My Car After a Nice Wax Job

Ok as some of you may know I got my car painted a little over 2 months ago. I'm now allowed to wax the car since it has been two months since I got it back.

I first washed the car with my Turtle Wax Self-Drying Wash'n Wax, and then used my Stage 2 Maguire’s Polish, and then I used my Stage 3 Maguire’s Wax. The self drying stuff doesn’t really dry itself but it’s supposed to.

look at it-

Tell me what you think

Yeah it was trash day for us her is Jacksonville, Florida

Looks great! I would lose the stickers and subs in the back window, it kinda just screams "young kid inside!".

Other than that, it looks like it might be time to start saving for a new aerowing. I like that you polished up the early 16" wheels, this is one of the few times I have seen someone put some real effort into them. Nice and original!

Looks fricking awesome! But I think you need some limo tint on the back window. Those subs just want to be stolen!

i like having my windows untinted. I have this special polish that i can put on it to make it look like i have my windows down when your looking at it. Thsi stuff also stops finger prints from getting on the glass.

hey rubermaid trash cans rull, except when you hit them with your scateboard going down a hill, you kinda fly and drag on the ground at the same time, really funny story someday i might tell you.

I like your car alot! I also like my car without tint so you are not the only one. What do you use on your windows to make them that clear?

uh, L&S 501, here is the web address.

http://www.mksales.com/ls.html

Alright, this website says you can use it on your car, but i wouldn't, i havn't ever used it on my paint job, but if someone wants to try you can go ahead.

For me i use this on my windows, its kinda cool, you apply it with a rag, then wipe it off with another. This makes your windows non glare and super clear, then rain-x them to make the finish stay on for good and it is perfect.

The stuff comes off with detergents so i'll need to reapply it to my car becuase i havn't done it to in the past 3 weeks. Thats why the windows glared on the pics.

People will continually come up to me, i coulda swore your windows were down. My mom the other day was talking to me while i was in the car and hit her head on the glas, she never saw it.

I'll apply it tomorow so you can see the difference, between un teated and treated. Very much a big difference. It also says you dotn have to shake it, wlel ya do, to get best results please shake it becuase the stuff and some clear liquid will separate and all you'll get is clear stuff, useless without it.

Its very expensive but this stuff is really good stuff. $15 a bottle and its only 16oz.

looks good, but with the subs, are those the elcheapo ones form say pepboys? if so those arent goin to last too long, we installed a system with a jensen 680watt amp and well the master tech at work blew those subs out in less the an hour, needless to say we got a new sub box for the guy and didnt tell him, he'll find out sooner or later.

wait actually was reading about the L&S 501 polish on vehicles and a lot of people with reviews for it say they have found it in a lot of Car Shows and they use it on the entire vehicle. I might have to try this sometime but not too soon.

car looks great, nice color! When you do get a new aerowing I'd paint it to match instead of leaving it black. Also, I'd get the nose bird to spice up the front. Nice job!

One- is there any sanding needed to make my tailights that shiny?

Two- When i get a new aerowing, i'm keeping it black becuase its adds a nice contrast, it mathes the t-tops and other small black parts of the car. I'm already seen what teh car would look like. goto
http://www.cardomain.com/id/flyinlow89/

thats the d00d i got my color off of, his wing matches eactly, i dont like it like that.

Three- What color Hood bird would matcht he color of the car, i'm thinking maybe black or gold or something? i dunno

Since you're keeping the aerowing black, I'd get a black nosebird to go with the flow of all the trim items. Any other color might throw it off. Final suggestion- either a trans am decal on each fender (4thgen style font looks cool), or a trans am decal for the back bumper, maybe both. I'd keep them black too. Again, nice job on your ride...........

I already ordered my decals just a little while ago, with the black bird and trans ajm stuff. I bought the 87 one becuase i hate that stripe that goes completely around the car and its a $125 sticker too so i got the 87 one. I got them from

http://www.phoenixgraphix.com/

for $169 + shipping, forgot what total was, but my mom knows since it was her credit card i used, haha(she let me).

I'm so stupid i bought the kit that had 5.0 li H.O. and didn't even get the 5.0 li F.I. one, now i gotta re order then pay shipping again. I'm such a retard.

anyways my new question is, will i be able to put on the hood bird or do i need a pro to do it correctly, everytime i try to put on big stickers i get bubbles.

Plastic polishing compound from www.eastwoodco.com

it's the blue stuff. You will also need a loose style buffing wheel on either a air die grinder or a bench grinder.

Not a huge fan of silver but still very nice car! I hope my 82 turns out just as nice!

Ha! Just noticed you have a 85-86 Firebird S/E tail light center piece.

Yeah i have plans for new wheels. I want some of them SLP FireHawk wheels on mine.
For 4 of them it $1,100

My second wheel choice will be some ROH Snypers. I just got laid off of Circuit City the first. Yesterday i got a new job, full time, so i will be able to get my wing, wheels, and hood.

How much at the cheapest are ROH Snypers?
Cheapest i saw was $160 per rim.
at http://www.groupawheels.com/

Yeah guys thanks for all the good comments on my car, the color looks to be silver however it is 1998 Chrysler Platinum. My third break light doesn't even work. I still gotta get a new bulb for the stupid thing.

oh, oh, oh, yeha now i know. hahaha. thats cool, didn't even think anyone would look at my true age. My sister, who is 15 as of December 23, is getting a 84 Z28 in a couple of days for her first car. Its only $1200 and its in great shape, no carbon buildups or anything. Engine is in perfect shape and only has 82,235 miles on it. My family loves muscle cars, or atleast fast ones. I've had mine ever since my 15th birthday, thats when i got my learners permit. Mine cost $2000 at Crest Cheverlet though.

Get some new rims and that car would look VERY nice. It looks pretty good right now but I am not a fan of those rims.

well i get paid $7 bucks an hour plus tips for drying cars. I work at CarSpa. I work on a usuall week 30 hours.

$30 x 7 = $210, for one week, now my biweekly paycheck,

$210 x 2 = $420

Price per rim(ROH Snypers) = $160

$160 x 4 = $640

I make $375 after taxes each week, so

640 / 375 = 2 paychecks

Then add tips and i should have them pretty soon. So do you guys think Snypers would look good on my car or what? I cant go very expensive now.

Beautiful paintjob. Silver is a very hard color to paint, it runs very easily. Whoever did that really knew what they were doing.

Polish those taillights and youll be in great shape!

joshp14- Ive always loved that picture. I envyed it so much that i finally picked up a set of GTA tallights and spent the better part of a day getting them polished just perfect. Thanks for the inspiration man!

guys i'm keeping the stickers. They show origianlliet and separate my car form others.

two- the stickers show what kinda performance addons i have
for instance my edelbrock cat back system, my Accell super coil, my Viper ALarm System, and i'm gonna take then AAA stick off but the others are staying.

now i agree with you guys on the tailights. I'm almost embarrassed about my tailights now that i see what they could be like. The think is, i dont have a buffer or any kinda buffing utility. The only thing i have is a drill, and a dremel with polishing pads. Now how could i use these things to make this work. The dremel is pretty hard to use because the little pads like to fall off or strip while you are using them.

i suppose u could do it by hand. Or the autoparts store will have a thing that u put in your drill, its like a foam pad on a disc (or theres a few other types) and has a metal shaft that goes in your drill, but this will take much longer. Walmart has buffers 7in for $14.99. Surprisingly they work well and last a good while, ive had mine since june and dropped it many times, still works great.
