Tire Sizes
Im not sure if this is the right place for this, but it seems like the right place...
What is the biggest size tire that can be fit on a stock 3rd gen (91 RS) with the stock 16'' rims with out mod-ing or rubbing? I know that stock they come with 235/55/R16 and that works fine without rubbing, but I have right now 225/60/R16 and the front tires rub when i go full crank to the left or right. Any thoughts on why that happens?
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks for your time.

Also, what would be a good tire size combo for front and back to give my car the muscle car look with the raised rear end and the wide tires in the back and the short(er) and thin(er) tires in the front? Thanks again.

My '86 IROC has 245/50/16 all around and I get no rubbing at full crank. Maybe the IROCs are different. My friend has and 89 RS with 225 and his don't rub either.
I think a 255/60 out back and a 225 or 235/40 or 50 up front would look good and clean.
If anyone knows of a better combo please feel free to correct me.
EDIT: not sure how wide we can go on stock rims so you may be able to go wider than 255.

I have 215's up front and 245 in back, and i want to put 275's. It should work, and if anything you can always put in air shocks to lift it up a bit to stop the rubbing.

Yeah I just got my car and they had put larger tires in the rear, I personally think it's pretty cool looking...
And I noticed that you (imadude) have a '91 RS.... Now, how does the throwback bigger rear tire muscle car look on the newer style ground effects? It seems like the newer style wouldn't look as right, but I hope it still looks good as I'm getting the 91-92 gfx soon, and I'll be running these tires (taller in back) until I can get some new 17's, and that might be a long time....
BTW I just put up 3 pics at http://www.cardomain.com/id/kbeez if you wanna see mine. I know it's ghetto but it's gonna be nicer here pretty soon hehe.
(and it's funny how people have scripts that automatically fill out the guest book, I already have 3 people in like 3 minutes haha)
