Snyper Questions

Alright guys, does anybody have pics of some ROH Snypers in the 16x8 form, i wanna see what they would look like compared to some 17s. I'd like to see pics.

Now if i buys these rims i know i can get them for $160 a peace from http://www.groupawheels.com/prod01.htm. SO thats not my problem, i just spent $274 on brand new tires and want to see if a larger tire size is really worth it? If i do get the 17s, how would i have to adjust my speedo meter, It would say i'm going slower than i actually am right? If not what size tires would i need so i can see how much they are. So if i go get the same tires i got, thats 274 x 2 = $548 over the cost of rims...... Ya know what bump that.

I still wanna see pics of the actuall difference.

Please. On second, how mcuh do you think i could get off my Rims/tires. The rears are brand new(not even 50 miles). and my fronts are about 5,000 miles old. How much for that combo do you think i could get? Would anyone buy those rims? If i could get atleast enough to pay for the new tires i would sell them for that price only.

I would actually sell rims/tires combo for $575. Would anybody buy for that price?

thanks,

shane

here in jax, florida, i'm gonna wash my car in 54 degree weather yippee. Getting the soap ready right now.

Well, I hate to say it but you will NEVER sell those wheels and tires at that price. Those are the least desirable 16" wheel that ever came on a thirdgen, most people use them as aluminum scrap. Altough yours really look good polished up, so you might be able to get something for them, I would think $200-300 at the most with good tires. Probably not exactly what you were looking to hear, but an honest take none the less. If I were you and you already have four good tires and really want new wheels, just keep your tires and buy the 16" snypers. With a wheel that has small spokes and so much open area you really are not going to notice it all that much as compared to other designs. (i.e. 15" vs. 16" 88-90 IROC-Z oem wheel)

I hope this helps and good luck man!

Also, with the diferent size rims you just get smaller profile tires so the over all diameter stays the same size (or really close to it) so you don't mess up your speedo.

Just tell them what year and model and they will tell you what back spacing you need.

Exactly. They make snypers as a direct fit for 82-92 f cars.

if you have any doubts just give them a call. Ffrom what I have heard from others who have bought wheels from them they will get you the right dimentions without the need for spacers. I am going to buy the ROH RT rims when I get the money I like the sniper too but I would go with 17s but you have to live with it. good luck

Depends on the width and backspacing of the wheels. Most folks go with the tried and true 275/40/17, which is also the stock size on the 4th gen cars equipped with 17" wheels. (17x9 is a good wheel for this tire)

Either way, 17's will be a budget wrecker from what it sounds like if you are sweating the tires. I would stick with the 16's, but that's me and I always take the logical aproach.

if you got the 17x8 I think you could go with a 245/45/17 but if you went with the 17x9 I would go bigger. since I have had 16 and 18 inch rims I have really noticed that the 16s have a lot more "slop" when turning. you can really feel the tires roling when you turn hard but the 18s are a lot more presice and feel better. but they are stiffer when you are running down the road so I think a 17 would be the best of boath worlds. Not too sloppy and not to hard eather. (just my $.02)

Alternativly, you could go with the 17x8 setup, and use 245/45/17 tires.

tirerack.com has these in the Kumho ecsta 711 for about $77 ea., a great tire for the money. I have these on my car now and you can't beat the price/performance ratio with a stick.

i know this guys, but thie thing is that i just spent my $274 on new tires when all that was wrong with the old ones was they had a bump on one side. I could have waited about a couple of weeks and gotten these but i dunno. I'm so dissappointed that i cant aford these things, i'm still only 16 but ya know.

I mean i really, really, really want them 17x8, i mean i really do. i mean i could prolly sell my tires by them selves for like $250, but he said that the tires and rims could only go for that, thats what sucks. This is whats dissapoiting me. I mean the rears only have maybe 50 whole miles on them and thats it. All i did that day was go get the oil chaged and its pretty much been sitting at home since then.

Nobody here can get me a ideot who would buy these tires/rims for $500.

I'm out right now to completely change the look of my ride,

-new rims
-functional ram air II hood
-97 decals for the ws6 package
-new fiberglass wing
-eiback lowing springs
-new engine with atleast 350HP

all in order from what comes first

I want my ride to look different, but not different and the same all at the same time. I mean i can save two of my pay checks, but not 3. My girlfriend would be pissed cause usually every 3 weeks we go out to eat at like outback or something. d00ds i'm wipped, and i cant get out of it.

******* now that i think about it, i might be able to make her wait 6 weeks, but i dunno*******

I know how you feel, I am 17 and I have a 305 and I really want a 350 and I really want an SS hood and a ton of other stuff but you will just have to pace your self. you will have plenty of time to soup up your ride, just save your money and buy what you really want. you don't have to spend everyting right away. hope that helps put a little

yeha i know, but i dont work well when i have money in my possession for a long time. I cant help but spend it. I'm gonna have to work my *** off to get these things.

Well untill june my rents are gonna continue paying the insurance becuase they pay for insureance in 1 year increments. In june they signed over the deed to me and all kinds of stuff. The insurance money will have to be paid, so when i start paying $150 from each paycheck goes to insurance. This is aboue $300, but will only cost about $250 each month so the rest is if somehting happens to my car so i can pay the deductable.

ya know what, fashizzle the 17s, i'm gonna get the 16s now and eventually will switch to the 17s and just sell the 16s. People will deffianely pay for them and i wont have to loose sooo much money too.

so 142.40 x 4 = $596.60
+ atleast $40 in shipping
= 610

$610 means less than two pay checks then i can start saving up for my new hood and other stuff.

-new rims $610
-functional ram air II hood $645
-97 decals for the ws6 package $250
-new fiberglass wing $425
-eiback lowing springs $250
-new engine with atleast 350HP $5000

Sounds like a winner.

Sounds like a good list, although I would go with the formula hood or the RA I hood instead, the RA II is just plain too big for me and does not really follow the lines of the car. I have seen some that look great, just not something I would do personally.

I've had both the 16" and now the 17" Snypers do yourself a favor and save up for the 17s. They fit the look of the car perfectly with a modest drop. I'm running 275/40/17s all around with 0mm offset Snypers and I have no problems with rubbing except when fully turned in either direction it rubs up front barely. I'll dig through my pics real quick and see if I don't have some comparison pics. If I were you I'd keep the rims/tires you have now for poor weather driving if you see snow or anything it'll keep your 17" rim/tire investment looking better longer.

yeah, i just noticed that the RAI hood was that much different from the RAII hood. i thouhg the pic of it by itself would look cool but your right it doesn't follow the lines of the car. I'm gonna get the RAI style hood.

Man when i'm done with my car its gonna be slammin. Well if the people at school dont ever do what they are threatening todo to my car. They are threatening to Key the brand new paint job and stuff, So i'm gonna buy me some cameras and a VCR to tape the cameras, if they mess with the car, bam they are on tape and going to pay and i'm gonna press charges. I'm gonne hide most of each camera in the part where the rear speakers are, watching each side of the car through the windows. Then one watching the hood in the hatch compartment.

Man there is no such thing as that kinda weather here in jacksonville, florida. I'm just gonna get the 16s first becuase i need to get my moneys worth outof them rear tires before i get ride of them. I wont change until the fronts, which are a bit older, are needing replaced.
