The Nasty Lavender Firebird I bought

I was looking through old pics and scanning them this weekend to put together a Car Domain page. I found the one picture I took of my Firebird the day that I bought it.

Check this nasty thing out. The front grilles, rocker panels and louvers were painted lavender. The air cleaner lid was lavender. Assorted interior pieces were lavender. The fins on the taillights were lavender. My dad picked the car up at auction for me-- I'm guessing a girl owned it. That, or big gay Al from South Park.

This is the only picture I have of the car this way. One minute after I sat the camera down, I found some sandpaper and black Krylon and de-estrogenized it.

Within one year, I replaced the engine, trans, rearend, radiator, bumpers, hood, hatch, taillights, front & rear suspension and wheels/tires. Then my motivation took a dump. It's still not painted. Oh, well- at least it's not lavender.

Heheheheh, I'll take a lavender thirdgen at an auction any day! That thing would go cheap as other bidders look on in horror!

"Do I hear a $100 starting bid?........ $50?........ O.K., $25 from the gentleman laughing out loud in the front row!"

Well, I wouldn't go that far. But thanks. Your car is really sharp so I appreciate your saying that. The pic in my signature is really old. It already looks bad enough in that pic- I didn't want to create a sig with the way it looks now. I did put some recent pics of the car on my Car Domain Site though.

Cool. I was curious to know what your car looked like originally. At least the whole car wasn't painted lavender.

I sold the 14" Enkei's that were on it when I bought it. Next came the 17" Centerlines in my sig pic, which were sold last summer. I now have 17x9" 4th Gen WS6 wheels for it. There's a pic of the WS6 wheels on my Car Domain site.

Looks good, I really like the new WS6 wheels. Your Caprice is very very clean! Keep up the nice work.

The WS6 wheels are SO much better. I see they are for sale, what are you replacing them with (and how much do you want for them)?

That car will look awesome if/when painted.

82firebird: Thanks. Yeah, the Caprice is a little nicer than the Firebird, huh? How's your '82 coming along?

Fyrelance: The Centerlines are kind of dated now. They were cool when I bought them. I haven't picked out new wheels yet, but I decided to get custom wheels instead of using factory 4th Gen wheels & adapters.

Here's a link to my ad on the TGO classifieds for the WS6 wheels. PM me or email me if you have any questions. I don't want this thread to get locked for becoming a swap meet.

EDIT: and what do you mean IF it gets painted
