Ground Effects: 85-90 or 91-92?
Okay, what's the consensus on ground effects here? The 85-90 style, or the 91-92 style?
And why am I not asking about the 82-84? well, I have nothing against those years, it's just the '85 is pretty similar, just a tad bit cooler, and the consensus is always in the '85+ favor than 84 down
And is it just me, or does the 85-90 go more with a muscle look, while the 91-92 is more of a sporty look?
I'm asking 'cause I need new ground effects on my '88 s/c, as they are almost all beat up immensely, and since I'm getting them anyways, shouldn't I just get the 91-92 style or what? And I kinda like the muscle look, with the larger tire in rear and whatnot, but will that clash with the 91 style gfx? (btw my car came with a larger tire in rear, and I love the look, but I can't say if I'd like it all 4 the same size or not if you know what I mean)
Thanks for any and all opinions, help, etc

Well 91-92 will probably be a landslide vote, but I'm glad I stuck with my '85 GFX, it really depends on the car as a package. I agree with you as far as the 85-90 having a "muscle look" while the later model has a "sporty" look. The only thing I don't like about the 91/92 is that along the door there's a seam/gap running down the middle of the "scoop". A pretty cool option is to go for the 91/92 front lower gfx, and 85/90 side panels; I ALMOST did that. Do you have any pics of it now? What are your plans for the car?

well tomorrow i'm trading in my 84 ground effects for the 85-90 style off "metalicamaro" he's a mod on a bunch of boards. It'll be good times since he's going 91-92 style....so everyone wins out.

IMO:
85-90
82-84
91-92
The 85-90 GFX are the absolute best to me and have the most muscular and fitting appearance. And I think no matter the GFX, wide tires look great all around.

Here's a pic, my cars pretty ghetto looking right now, but that's why I'm getting the new gfx and paint
And yeah tpiroc, I absolutely love your car, and unlike most of the cars of yours' caliber, it still has the 85-90 gfx, and looks absolutely amazing!
And just using the front spoiler is definitely an idea, so I'd be saving a little bit of money, but since I'm about to paint it I'm really looking at the 91-92 style all the way around, but I'm not 100% sure exactly, so that's why I'm asking.
thanks for any and all input!
edit: and I also have an 82-84 z28 fiberglass hood, my current ones dented up, and this one would just be going to waste, so I'm going to put that on, would this look alright with the 91 style?
thanks again!!!

85-90 is my favourite
but if you like the high rise spoiler it only looks right with the 91-92 just like i dont think the iroc spoiler works with the 91-92 gfx.
Also dont go with a larger rear tire unless youre doing it for functionality. These cars only look right if you have the same height wheels with the same size sidewall.

I voted for the 91-92 with the larger rear wheel

The Camaro rockers are the best looking ones for the 3rd gens.
