Which Spoiler for the Firebird?
I am lookin to replace my stock spoiler.

with a new one but I am tryin to see which one I should go for or if there is any other ideas out there from you guys. I am liking this one

But I know there is probably some more out there that I am not seein. Anyone have any ideas or do you think that the spoiler above is a good choice for my car. Thanks.

Not really a whole bunch of wings out there for birds. There is the stock 91-92 that you posted, the stock 85-90 aerowing, and the 4th gen T/A look-a-like made to fit our cars.
If you look for a post by me about changing spoilers, there are pictures of Deadbird's car with each of these wings on it including a 91-92 high rise Z wing. Plus his car is white so it will give you an idea of what it will really look like.
I say since you have the 91 ground effects, a 4th gen wing would look good.

Thanks!! My brother actually has a white 1991 base model bird with the 305 tbi (sound familiar??
).. I really like the 91-92 ta spoiler.. Plus, if you used that one, you'd only be emblems and taillights away from a GTA clone.

hehe, well I don't want to clone anything really. I just like mixing things up that look good on my car. Nothing to extreme.
86WS6_T/A,
I do like the 4thgen spoiler but just not on a thirdgen. It just doesn't look like it flows with the body. Same thing with the 98-2004 t/a ws6 hood....it just doesn't look right on an fbody and doesn't flow with the body or the nose in my opinion, espically on pre 90 thirdgens. So I try to stay away from the new ls1 ws6 fad going around lately, lol. I think the 93-97 ram air hood is as close as I will get to anything new and thats just because it actually looks like to be flowing with the body a lot better then the oversized nostriols on the ls1 hood.

Yeah, I agree on the cloning thing.. No need to try to make it a GTA.. F-body alone is damn cool.
The nice thing about our cars is that they can look the best using factory parts from various years...

if you goto the avertised sight above, http://www.ramairhood.com/ they have very nice price on hoods/spoiler and just about all exterior aftermarket stlying.
I seem to like the 4th gen style wings the best but i dunno. The actuall aerowing is $375 now and cheaper than any of the other replacement wings. Might wanna check that one out my friend.

The 91-92 spoilers are pretty sweet, but for my car, I'm going with the 4th gen style, just cause with the ram air hood, it seems like its lower in the back without a bigger spoiler.
Here's an old pic I dug up with a stocker, might help you out on your wheel search too.

I personally like the look of the 91-92 trans am spoiler on f-body's not only from 91-92, I got one for my 87 GTA to replace the factory rubber one, haven't had a chance to put in on so no pics are available yet.
However, if you decide to go with the 91-92 style, you might want to contact Troy Polley. He got an excellent deal on a bunch of NOS (new old stock)91-92 TA spoilers that he was selling awhile back. I purchased one from him and was very pleased with the condition. If you are considered this type of spoiler try contacting him to see if he has any more of his inventory left. They are a great deal, and could save you some money. Just a thought.
Here is a link to feedback from his spoilers. ( there are many, one is from me) His contact information is also on this thread.

There a pain to clean cause stuff gets right down in those cracks. But they are what gm made with my car and I think they look good with the 91-92 models and I think your gfx look good with your model. I don't I will be going for a camaro hi-rise spoiler. I have this thing where I am a firm beilever in that camaro body parts do not belong on a firebird body and vice versa.

Yup... The one thing that truly sets apart the firebird from the camaro needs to stay apart... Besides, they never made a crappy looking firebird!! Joined: Jan 2001

I own one of both types of GTAs/Trans Ams and agree that the spoilers that came stock look right. Don't cross-breed between 85-90/91-92.
I think the 91-92 would look great on your car

Yay.
LoL
I just e-mailed that Troy Polley and I am gonna find out what he has for the 91-92 t/a style spoiler. Are there any differences between the www.ramairhood.com spoilers and the factory GM ones? The material there made of, how they fit, etc...thanks

From what I know, and i could be wrong, but the 91-92 spoilers that troy has are the hard plastic type spoilers, and the reproduction ones are made out of fiberglass. I assume the originals would hold up much better since they are not made of fiberglass. I have never seen a fiberglass one so I can't answer the fitmit issues.
