It should fit with ease. Are you just not lining it up right? Does your air cleaner stud not come through the hole? The only thing that I had to do to mine was make a custom wing nut to clear the recessed part on the top of it. It would not let the stock wing nut come down far enough.

I have the L69 in my car with the dual snorkel air cleaner. I was just wondering if or how one of these may benifit me . I already have the replacement K&N filter in it so I was wondering if one of these lids would help me out. Also if it would help what size would fit my stock air cleaner assembly.

Thanks,
Travis

Your duel snorkel is fine. I would rather have the dual snorkel than the open element. It sucks to much hot air in when it is hot outside. I do not think they make a lid for stock applications. The stock lid is HUGE and is not a standard automotive generic air cleaner size. Jegs will list all the sizes they have. I only have my extreem lid for looks. The hood insulation comes right down on top of it and zero air flows though it. A cowl hood is about the only way you can utilize this lid.

I would try to back it out a bit. it is just screwed into the TBI unit and you can bring it up some by unscrewing it a bit. What size open element do you have. The lid actually sits a bit lower than your typical open element lid.

See I thought the lid that came with my open elemt looked out of place. I think chrome should be limited to wheels only on these cars. Plus mine kinda matches the color of my car.

Once I got a breather with the rubber piece, but their wasn't a hole in the rubber piece. I got a K&N one that stuck in the stock rubber piece.

I dont see how it could hurt your flow especially with the stock non dual snorkel (technical term lol) i noticed a profound difference just running a truck filter in my stock air cleaner.

well yes and no the filter lid could hurt if you have a stock hood because then you are sucking in hot air. If you have a cowl induction hood or better yet like in my case (ss hood) you can really pull in a lot of cold air!!!!!!! I put mine on and wow felt the power go up like crazy from idle to full throttle would almost wager to say 15 to 20 hp increase over original snorkel

yeah i could understand with a stock hood, but regardless if its open all the way around it would still be more air it may be hot but it doesnt have to suck it through a straw
