Need some opinions
Which tailights do you guys like better for my car? I'm at the point where I dont want to fork out the money for the grid lights to have em fixed or replaced when I have a set of the 82-84 style sitting at home. But to be honest, I don't know if I like em as much...

What's the matter with the one's you have now?
I would disaggree with the 82 - 84's because they are somewhat boxy and don't flow with the car as nice as the ones you have.

I'll give you another option, Mitch. 91-92 GTAs. They are the best overall, but they are pricey. If you can't swing them, you should be able to find a reasonably priced pair like you have now. Just don't put the older ones on. They look good on the older birds that they were meant to be on, but not on newer models.

I agree with 87GTA Runner in suggesting 91/92 t/a taillights for your car since you have a 91/92 bird, but i dont agree that they're the best overall..... i think that the early tails look best on early thirdgen birds, the 85-90 lights look best on the birds of those years, and the 91/92 lights look best on (you guessed it...) 91/92 birds. they all just match the overall design of the car best
in terms of the 82-84 style taillights, are they base taillights (like the ones you pictured) or t/a taillights (smoked)? just curious, but i'd say throw them on and see how you like them, you can always change them back.
however, if you choose not to use the early style tails, you can always pick up some spray-on tint from an autoparts store and smoke your current taillights.... that may hide the imperfections as long as you dont have any cracks in the outer shell.....

Wow, its pretty much unanimous for the newer ones. Those 91-92 lights are nice, but I dont think they are worth the money. (thats probably cause I dont have the money!
)The more I thought about those early ones, the more I agreed with everyone here.
I think what I may try is painting or taping new grid lines on the outside of the lens. I found some 2 part plastic resin stuff, I could pour that over top, see how that looks, as a cheap solution.
And 90Firebird, I did have them painted on for awhile with vht shideshades, and they were too boring for me, so I stripped em back down.
