internet car show
internet car show
well it's almost spring and it's time for some fun. who is up for an internet car show? the rules will be simple. anyone can enter, however no one who has a car in it can judge. i for one will not be in it as i will be judging and anyone who is willing to help judge please let us know.
CLASSES:
there will be only a few classes. stock/street/modified in both pontiac and chevy forms. if there are enough cars there will be a best paint, engine & interior award as well. unlike most shows where your car is classified by judges here we want you to do it. if for some reason your car clearly doesn't fit the class you want then the judges have the right to change it.
AWARDS:
all of the awards will be basic certificates that will be designed up just for fun. there will have to be a minimum of 50 cars total among all the classes for any of this to work so if you want your car in you had better post.
HOW TO ENTER:
if you want your car in the show post here but DO NOT POST A PICTURE as we don't need another one of those threads. make sure your signature has a link with a simple picture or simple page that describes your car. in the body of your response just say you want in and choose your class. there is only one major rule that everyone must apply to. YOU MUST BE A MEMBER OF 4 MONTHS OR OLDER AND HAVE AT LEAST 100 posts to be considered.
TIME: everyone will have 1 week starting today. so next friday at 5:00 pm the judging "lanes" will be closed. so if the date on your post shows your late you won't be accepted.
JUDGING:
the easier to view the pictures of your car and the more you have to describe the car will help you. for example: if you want your interior judged but we can only see your driver seat obviously that won't be as good as the guy who shows a better view. one car may have nicer paint but if the pictures are poor then you can't expect anyone to know. detail counts.
"we need a few more judges as well so anyone willing to volunteer please say so. judges must have 500 posts or more and have been a member for over 1 year."
ANYONE WHO POSTS A PICTURE OF THEIR CAR IN THIS THREAD WILL NOT BE INCLUDED!!
those who are willing to help out with parts of this please pm me and for the rest of you just have fun. if for somereason this gets locked email me your links to the cars and we'll post the setup later.

I geuss mine would be street. Does it matter what condition your car is in right now? I would like to have my car judged as of May 03 becuase of its encounter with a little wall. An internet car show would be the only place wher I could get away with such a thing.

I would like to enter the "Best Paint" and the "Best Engine" classes. I have a link in the sig for almost all info on my car. Page 9 shows the whole restoration.
Very good idea and well thought out, Kandied

lol ShiftyCapone, whatever pictures you submit along with whatever you have to describe the car is what the judging is based on. all things are taken into consideration; this is for fun and should be considered as such.....
however those who are submitting things should also take into account if you can't notice particular major items that are said to exist they won't be counted. a good example would be someone wanting to be in modified class with a stock car or a dressed up street car posing as stock. if your pictures don't match your description it will hurt you. in the event of a close consideration in a certain class the deciding cars will be posted and voted upon by everyone.
TunedPort 335 for your particular interests you should understand that those categories will be placed and chosen once the others are filled. in otherwords there isn't just a best paint award that your looking at. pick a class and a overall setup will be chosen.
all of those who have nice enough cars to be considered for such should remember that a picture is worth a thousand words. since were on the internet and they are the only way to judge you can have the nicest paint in the world but if your picture doesn't reflect it that will hurt you. so in otherwords HQ photos will really narrow this subject down.
but in all fairness remember that this is just for fun and something to pass the time so get your pictures and info together. lets get this thing going!!

for those wanting better clarification of the classes:
STOCK/RESTORED:
For "STOCK" Camaro's that have not been modified in any way. These cars will have all factory stock parts as could be ordered, with the following exceptions: radio, tires, battery, hose's and other normal maintenance type items. However there are exceptions to these exceptions, ALL replacement parts MUST be a STOCK APPEARING part.
Examples are as follows:
RADIOS - you can change from AM to AM/FM/Cassette as long as it fits in the dash like a stock radio. If there are extras, like graphic equalizers, power boosters, extra speakers in non-stock locations, this radio is now considered a modification and will move this Camaro into STREET Class.
TIRES - you can have radial tires on a Camaro and remain in Stock Class as long as all four tires match brand and size and are within one size of original equipment. Different brands front to rear, different sizes front to rear or oversized tires will be considered a modification and move this Camaro into STREET Class.
EXHAUST - exhaust items naturally wear out and need to be replaced. This is fine as long as it's size and appearance is stock. Aftermarket turbo mufflers, cat-back systems, H pipes, over sized pipes, shortened or side outlets, etc. will be considered a modification and will move this Camaro into STREET Class.
BODY - headlight and taillight covers, paint accents, extra pinstriping, wrong year hoods/scoops/spoilers, window louvers or add-on window tinting will be considered a modification and will move this Camaro into STREET Class.
OTHER - mag wheels and aftermarket chrome engine dress-up items are not allowed in STOCK Class and will be considered a modification and will move this Camaro into STREET Class.
STREET:
This class is for slightly modified Camaro's. This is where the mag wheels, headers, scoops, etc. are allowed. more then three areas of modification move the camaro to modified class.
MODIFIED:
This class is for a more extensively modified Camaro. 4 or more modifications will put you here. a typical modified car will have custom paint, wheels or a finish on the wheels that isn't factory, custom interior of some sort wether it be seat covers, shifter, etc. as well as a cage, engine dress up or modification, etc.
you guys get the idea.....basically don't try to pass off a street car as stock and you'll be fine. most should fall into the street class anyhow except for those just starting off who would be considered stock. for the rest of us who have custom everything we sum it up in modified. sure we could get really technical and throw in show car classes and whatnot but it isn't needed. the point is to have fun, so have at it!

ok heres a run down on mine. add it to any class u want esp unfinished i think if u make it they should be rules like u dont got paint done, u dont got motor trans or rear end in or interior done that sorta thgin not just a completelly together car w/ lil blemish or not done in the owners eyes.
mine has the obvious custom hood scoop, shaved hood indents, shaved door and fender moldings that run down the side, custom front and soon to be rear covers for the seats, painted console and door trim like lock plate handle cover thing all trim around window console all that painted, custom painted and aftermarket custom made deep dish and lil smaller in diameter then stock steering wheel, custom shift boot, custom rear sub box and covered in red velvet as wel as my headliner, sunviors and sail panels,(thoose wil be covered i've got the stuff just got to do it....do it!!)custom made mesh grille, park light covers, and ram air screens, alignment of the 3 piece spoiler to the hatch to align the pieces to same height and everything. polished plenum intake, all under hood painted n detailed, gotta get pics of it once its done.
cleaned and detailed fender wells, cd player pioneer 6x9's sony 6x9's sony 6 1/2s in dash 2 10 ionch oz audio subs in the well.
prolly many others i cant remember right now.

come on guys pick your own classes at least.......we can't do everything for you.

as far as an unfinished class how would you judge that...? because one person has more pannels painted then the other would they win? what about the guy who has a 15,000 800 horse beautiful motor and a rusted frame?
this is for fun.......it would just be too much work.

Good idea. I'm in. Considering it's supercharged, I guess that would qualify for the "modified" class. Here is link to my cardomain.

Oh yeah, I'm entering the black GTA. The TTA on the pages isn't mine yet, technically. I don't take delivery of it until 3/27.

Hey Mitch, I like the Badger on your CarDomain site.
If I had enough posts I would like to be a judge and vote for you, but since I don't, maybe I'll have to take some updated pics and run against you.

By my count we have 16 cars entered, we need 34 more cars by Friday. Can this be made into a sticky?

benoit454 read the description of classes above...doesn't matter what you intended. it's what's on the car. my car is a street car, would it be fair for me to have it in street?

ok im not sure what u want me to read i just see this....
CLASSES:
there will be only a few classes. stock/street/modified in both pontiac and chevy forms. if there are enough cars there will be a best paint, engine & interior award as well. unlike most shows where your car is classified by judges here we want you to do it. if for some reason your car clearly doesn't fit the class you want then the judges have the right to change it.
so just keep me in my orignal chioce of modified so we avoid the hassle of this.
i just thought that ones entering modified was guys w/ built motors and modded stuf like huge suspension upgrades hardly any exterior mods. and like blowers n such so ill stick to my original and stay in modifeid cuz we had no hassles or probs til i said put me in street or whatever so it keep down on headaches just ignors al my previous posts on classes n keep me modified and just keep the parts about udting my site.
thanks kandie hope that helps some. not a headache sorry everyone.

as posted above....use this to determine what class you are in. if you are not sure you will be put in the right class anyhow.
