I can't decide if I want to run the DR's on my matching rims or just put them on my extra 2, the extra rims don't match the evryday ones. I am worried about longevity and hydro planing. Opinions wanted.

I was thinking of just having the Drag Radials on two extra rims so I could bolt them on before I go race, then put my street tires back on when I am done.

I was also thinking of putting the drag radials on the rims that my street tires are on now and just driving around with drag radials all the time.

My track is far away 80 miles and I want to bolt on the DR's before I leave my house but I don't want to have different front and back rims on that trip cause I think it looks like crap, but if I put the tires on the everyday wheels then I have to live with the fact that they wear out really quick and don't do good in the water.

Please someone vote! I have to decide by tomorrow cause I am getting them mounted.

Heres the thing, I have two extra rims that are the same casting as my stocks, but they are painted gold and mine are gray/polished.

you could always strip the extras and paint them to match the ones on your car.... or send it to a shop to have it done...

thats probably the way to go if you dont want to have mismatched wheels in addition to having your regular tires on the rear so you dont go through ur DR's fast.

good point, but I have to have everything done by tomorrow morning, so I think for now I am going to put them on the extras, and just drive to the track all gimp with mismatched rims until I have the time to do what you suggested.

the other nice thing is, when they match, people(read: police) dont tend to notice you're driving with "race" wheels...

not too big of a deal with DRs, but if you ever get ET streets or any other DOT "slick", you'll get alot of attention quick without them matching.
