hi, i am currently looking at a camaro for sale, and the seller told me that it has rock chips behind the rear wheels on the 1/4 panel and behind the front wheels on the fender. i have attached some pictures of it. It has the optional 16 in wheels. my question is, are the bigger rims (16in) wider then the 15 in? also were mudflaps an option from the factory to prevent these chips from the original paint? My final question is, with it only having 39,000 miles on it, were these areas prone or not protected as good from the factory or was this car driven hard during it's life. thanks albert III

do a search, first off. Second ive heard the factory paint is horrible.I think you would need to have it sanded and sprayed. answer to question is yes most 16x8 and 15x7 from factory.I could be wrong. I have 16in gold gta wheels and they are 8in wide.Second question mudflaps on a camaro
dont think so. third question looks like the dude you bought it from live on a rocky dirt road. or just like to spray passerbys with rocks for fun. but that stock paint is bad and easly chips and peeles . You gotta figure some dude was getting paid like 6 dollars an hour on a assembly line to paint it and he was probaly some jackass!

those are some nasty chips for any car, but that thing only has 39,000!?!?! That seems a little wierd to me. My car as 43,000 and isn't chipped nearly that bad....

the rear quarter panels are semi-prone to things being tossed up from the tires, but in normal use rocks really wouldn't be kicked up there, usually just dirty water...as long as you dont spin tires in loose rock i dont know how that could happen
