I wish our cars came with a targta top instead of T tops. while crusing today (with the tops off) I parked next to an early 90s vette with a targa top, made me want one! nice drawing too.
I'm gonna be looking into getting a targa top for the camaro.......considering I have a hardtop, it should make things interesting......along with the fact i need to get more suspension pieces before i go chopping of some of the support.......
Get some motivation to finish that thing, I've been following it and looking forward to the final product.....

Deff lack of motivation. just been ordering parts. Tubular k member , big turbo. next is a dart little M block.
I did put the 4thGen dash in 2day as a mock up fit. and trimed the 4th Gen pillar plastic so I can make new ones using them and the stockers to make One nice one to solve the gap issues.

I like all the drawings, ha, I thought I was only one that drew thirdgens during class. I would post some of my targa'd drawings, but I think we are all tired of seeing them, hehe.
I think targa is fantastic idea. To have something like that done on a thirdgen is one thing you would want to be absolutely perfect and done right. After chopping that center section, the windsheild frame would be pretty weak. I'd love to have targa top myself, but I don't think its worth the added expense and weaking structure, would be awesome to have though.

Belive it or not when I cut the brace and removed it. Its not to bad. I do have SFC's and with them Its about as week as my vert.
Im still puting a 8point cage in since Im droping a 418 with a single turbo in it.

I'm planning on running Spohn SFC's along with a pair of Alston SFC's? What are your thoughts on this idea?

/wonders if anyone will ever really complete a targa project.
It seems like alot of folks have chopped the roof of, and not gone any further. Here's hoping someone figures it out.

Theres nothing to figure out. Mold is done top is 90% done. I just been working 6days a week and have other projects going on also. The had part is done. drilling out the stop welds..lol.
Like I said Ive been working with figerglass and composits for 8yrs or so. a top like this is easy... My next big project which will be harder is a hardtop for the vert. The Vettes have one well I want one for my 91 Vert..
a diff targa top. this one looks like hell. mine will actually be a show finish quality. of the solid one. and Im doing a smoked lexan one also..

As for 2 sets of SFC's Thats kinda of a waste. I already have a set and when I do the 8point cage more shouldnt be needed.

can you weld yourself? and cut tubing? if so. No I wouldn't buy 2 sets of rebuilds units. Do like I'm doing and a few others. box your chassis in yourself.
Theres a pic on this site of a car on a rotisserie with what I'm talking about.
