Engine bay flat or gloss??
Hi guys...
Just got my car back from the paint shop and she is candy apple red! They also painted the engine bay, but painted it black since with the TPI there are about 10,000 wires in the way, which I didn't mind. Well, they used flat black and I don't think it looks very good. The rest of the car shines like a diamond and when you pop the hood, it has this dull black finish. I was thinking of getting them to redo it in a gloss black, but what do you guys think? Would a gloss be too shiny for under the hood? Anyone have theirs painted black and have pics? THANKS!!!

semi gloss. if you went with just gloss it would shine to much and look out of place.

Makes sense to me. Thanks guys. It is always nice to hear opinions from people that have lived the questions. Now to try and get the swirls out of the paint where they did some buffing.... *sigh*

Flat or semi-gloss. You will thank yourself later for the flat finish.

i have always found flat black was harder to clean. it has dimples in the finish...its not perfectly smooth like gloss or even semi gloss.

did mine in semi-gloss. So glad i did. looks a lot cleaner than flat black. I'd post a pic, but i don't have any "clean" pics. The engine has red dust all over it!

I used semi-gloss....I'm very happy with it. Just a little shine...not enough to put your eyes out or anything...that's what the outside it for...
