Stupid Newbie Question..

Hey i have a really dumb newbie question. Awhile ago i bought a beautiful Black 1991 Z28 Camaro.. I live up in the New England area and its really tuff to keep your car clean from all the road crap and dust.. And u kno black is prob the toughest color to keep up... Whats the best way to keep it clean?? Should i give it a carwash and then dry it? Or i read in some of the other Forums about the Mr. Clean Auto dry..... Whats the way you guys keep ur 3rd gens nice and clean? Like i said im a newbie and i just turned 17 soo i really dont no much bout cars and keep em them nice and clean

first welcome to the dark side of the force ,you should try to wash it often with a quality CAR shampoo and a delicate chamois piece to avoid the scratching you would get with regular cotton clothes, and after that,a nice coat of wax to protect that delicate paint of yours.you should do a search so you find posts on that topic from a guy called kandied91,he's got the most gorgeous thirdgen you'll ever see so he's kinda the man to ask for advice

You might consider grabbing a $10 California Duster for just removing dust after a day's ride. As long as you've got a good wax job they work fairly well and are pretty quick to use.

ya your only real hope is to put down a real thorough coat of wax, and then just wash it regularly

well i keep mi8ne clean by trying to dry it off after it gets rained on. If i drive home in the rain, i get it under the car port and dry it off. Every 2 weeks i used to do a full wax(Turtle Wax). It seems now that i use Meguires Miror Glaze #26 wax, i wax it once a month and it keeps the water beading. I tried a duster but, it didn't work correctly, the pollen would just get spread out. So i sold it for $10. Um..... thats about it my freind.

I've got a black car too, and I use a duster. I think it's great! It might not appear to have much affect with other colors, but it REALLY helps on black! A daily dusting helps keep the car looking good between washings.

althoe black is the worst color to keep clean, it looks good when it is... my advise is if the product cost more it is better, Mothers and other name brands. the sad thing is with black you only lear from your mistakes.

i wish i would have keeped the stock paint and practiced on it , or painted the b!tch white.
