How often do you need to use a clay bar on your car? Anyone know. I used it last year and was wondering if I needed to do it again this year.

 

Depends on the condition of your paint. Approx. 2 times a year I'd say though.

 

no more then 3..they recommend 2. it really isn't good for the paint, unfortunately it works quite well as there are so many contaminents.

i'd say whenever the base paint begins to feel gritty. your paint should feel smooth as glass without the aids of wax or other chemicals if you are keeping up on it and using the right products to polish.

downside is of two things....eventually you will wear through your paint so you have to decide at which point in your paints life do you sacrifice the look of your paint and use a wax or just keep polishing until you have no more paint.
