replica zr1's on a 91 TA?

whats everyone think of these wheels on a 91 TA?

http://www.wheelreplicas.com/zr1ss.htm

here's apic of the car, imagine a cowl hood on it too lol.. id have better pics but its at the body shop inprimer gettin painted!

basically the deal is, i have a chance to pick up a full set, 17x9 and 17x11 with tires everything in good shape for 500$ and change... can i go wrong? how do they look? i think they would look ok, and would hold me over until i have the cash for some nice TT2's...

Ive always liked those rims make about any muscle car look good. Ive never seen them on a Pontiac before but im sure you could find a car exactly like yours with those rims on cardomain, if you wanted to see what they were going to look like.

Um, that's not a Trans Am. Not that it matters, it looks like you built one heck of a sleeper there!

You just plain can't go wrong with the SS/ZR1 wheels. Much like the early IROC and the GTA wheels, it's a classic winner that looks good on just about everything.

LOL yeah welllll its close enough especially with the TA tailights on it... i will eventually get a 91-92 spoiler fo rit...

any ways, i picked up the wheels, and it seems as tho the back will fit with no spacers? just need to pound the hell out of the inner fenders, and roll the fender lip some... no spacers would make the tire just tuck in the wheelwell....

fronts appear to need only 1 3/4" spacers? anyone else find that the fenderwells are different in total width from the camaro's???

Looks like you are running a 4th gen rear? If so, sure that will bolt right up. I have a pair of 2" spacers for the fronts. You could probably do the 1 3/4 though.

yeah its definately NOT a 4thgen rear- its out of a 92 iroc and i put aftermarket axels in it...

the rims i got have 285s inthe front, and 335's out back... i'm kinda positive that im going to get somesort of rubbing in the front, but the backs will clear no problem... i think the biggest thing in the front is interfearnce with the tierod end... very wierd on the rearend tho.. i am gonna have to put them on both sides to make sure the rear isnt offset one way or the other before i order any spacers.

all in all tho, the rims are in good shape- espcially for the price w/ tires... i'll probbaly have them stripped and re chromed over the winter and get them to perfect status

4th gne wheels will fit ona 3rd gen, but 3rd gen wheels wont fit ona 4th gen, nor a 4th gen axle on a 3rd gen. Completely different offsets.

Just a FYI the bolt pattern is the same, and 3rd gen wheels Do fit a 4th gen. They stick out farther though. And the 4th gen rear is a bolt in in a 3rd gen.(almost)

ummm i said offset, not botl pattern. If you put 3rd gen rims on a 4th gne they will stick out like 2 inches.

Thirdgen wheels will fit on a fourth gen rear, and the 15x7" wheels would not even stick out much if any. I have 1.25" spacers on the rear of my car, and use 17x9.5 wheels with zero issues. You do the math.
