Well the thing you wanna cover up is the distributor, coil, altenator, and and umm thats about it really. Just becareful when you are spraying the engine down with the hose not to direct the pressure on any sensors and/or wire conectors. Best way I think to cover things up using those plastic bags that you get from the supermarket and to hold it down using a rubber band or some duct tape.

As for the engine detaling kit that you have I have no idea about it cause I never used anything like that. Al I ever did was get a few bottles of Simple Green and various paint brushes, huge pipe cleaners that I have, scrbb brushes, a tooth brush and a few towels.

Becareful when you go to use the stuff that you got. Try it in a small aera of you enine to make sure that it doesnt take the paint off of anything or discolor the plastic.

Like when I do my egine (still doing it in matter of fact) I spray an small aera and just work on that section to getit as clean as possible Spray it down with the hose and move onto the next sction. Belive me detailing your engine doesnt take 15 min todo. It takes a while casue all the nooks and cranies that are in the engine. Even more fr you since you have TPI.

Once you get done cleaning everything go over all the plastic and rubber with some Armor All or whatever you prefer. I personally like using Mequires Endurance since it last a long time before I have to go over the engine again.

Ok for the AC lines get some Mothers Aluminium mag and wheel poilsh and go over all the AC lines to make them shine almost like chrome.

Oh yeah before you start doing the engie itself clean your hood first!! You will be much happier if you did this first!!!

HTH
