The 2001 Dodge truck came with a v10 the same year his father bought that 97 Stock with an LT4: Never.

Currently, its not a 600 dollar either, and yes... I have the dodge catalog sitting in front of me.

3.7L v6 standard for 2wd, 4.7L standard v8 for 4x4, 5.7L hemi v8 optional and standard on heavier models, and 5.9L i6 cummins diesel optional, with 600 lb-ft of torque at 1600 RPM, or something.

The Viper V10 is available only with the SRT-10 package, and i DOUBT theyre only getting 600 for it...

In 2001 it was still a dream, allthough they had a 1/24th scale MODEL truck back then with the Viper V10. It was a VTS or something.

Anyways, im off to bed, thanks for the entertainment kid. And remember... chloroform is bad... mmmmmmmmmkay?

i dont get where the hell you guys got that i said those tips came o the car from the dealership? I never once said that. I said the lt4 came stock, not the tips. Stop reading **** wrong. I would have made a clause if it were about the tail pipes, but i put parentheses to make it about thew lt4. Learn your english.

the obvious BS of your dad has already been pointed out.

here you say...

i like em, i dont care if you do, so...
when you asked...

So what do you think about them????
you wanted criticism and you got it.

also...

The fur is coming down pretty soon, i just gotta figure out what material. I want to be special, but to where nobody will laugh at me for it. Its all cuase of you guys. I bet eventualy you'll make me hate my exhaust.
if your hating stuff you do merely because a website hates it... thats sad. i hope your just developing a thing called taste and your realizing things like, "i love my car more then anything so instead of modding it with cheap stuff im going to actually save my money and enjoy it for what it is now."

another hundred, you mean.

kidrcth (i'm not even sure what that handle means, either), take a look at my posts to stick on topic. Try out those turn-downs from Dynomax available on summitracing.com. They're only 20 bucks each and would make a huge improvement. Also, cut those old tips off. You can see from my diagram that you are indeed getting some (minor) restriction from them.

i dunno, i find it funny how all you guys can do to make yoursleves feel better is dawg on MY stuff. iguess its just showing your own insecurity to have to pick on me. there is such things as different tastes. And i do what i can with the money i have, IMO i do a good job also.

The fur is coming out, thats cool, maybe even this coming weekend too. Then i gotta finish my interior project. During this week i gotta finish my engine bay project.

IMHO, i do a good job at keeping my looking great with the money i have.

And yeah they were free so i couldn't just let them go, my mom wanted to sell them. I personally love the tail pipes, at first when i was looking at them from under the car, yeah they did look a little funky. But once you stand up you cant even tell. I seriously think you guys are just overreacting.

Actually, some early morning research did show that there was an 8.0L v10 in 2001. it appears theyve revamped their entire engine line since then, because the only v10 now is the Viper one in the SRT.

My bad.

BUT... i Also double checked for non-Firehawk LT4's, didnt find any..

yea, every once in awhile, Ill see an ram that says v-10 on the side....always thought it was weird myself, but it obviously wasnt a viper v10.....oh and about the tips, I know what you mean by them not looking too bad while standing, cuz they dont. But hey, if you're gonna show off your car and want people to respect the work you've put into it, do it the right way and weld some tips on, after you saw the ends off. I too have the edelbrock catback, and after seeing those turndowns at the end, I hacked them off....unfortunatly I had to use a thin bladed saw at the time (tired arms!)....but it was worth it

well i hate to tell you i told you so but... I told you there was a V-10. Damn i love being right.

I am not allowed to saw the ends off, i dunno why but he said if i gotta cut the ends off, i cant use them. So better to use them then nothing IMO.

That's because it happens so rarely.

Everybody on this message board has called on you every single time you've posted that bs about your fathers "stock LT4 TA"! So just give it up "d00d", nobody's falling for it.

i'll email my step-dad to ask if he has any pictures of it cause i cant find one. But he would know more than me. I doubt he has any pics of the engien bay however, just something he never cared too much about. We worked on ti all the time though. He was always ordering new parts, installing them or washing it. I swear i almost ahted the car cuase i got in trouble so muhc for touching it, or leaving finger print on the window. I got grounded for weeks for sneeking in a can of soda. The weird thing though, is now with my car, i'm exactly the same way. I wont let nobody touch the apint, except me. No drink no food, everything. I mean if anyone wants to help me wash it, i'm sorry unless you've washed cars the way i do, you cant.

Theres a way to wash a car thats a family eirloom i guess. Nobody else trhen us knows you wash highest to lowest and dry the same way. That way you dont bring the road grime to the top of the car. The wheels are always done last. When you wash like this there is an obvious difference.

The weird thing is since my car color is so shiny anyways i've never been able to tlel which wax i used was better. Until the other day when it was like 10PM and i was polishing the intake, i shined my lit close to the paint, i was seeing a perfect reflection. And as soon as i waxed with my new Gold Class i saw it even better. Its awesome.

Later, in school, got work,

Shane

nah man my car is my baby. If i had a child i would treat it just the same. Like this weekend when i found out it had cancer(rust) i went crazy and corrected it the very next day. I went crazy worring that i would have to get a new battery tray welded in but the current one is just fine. I treated it just as i would if my child had cancer. When it looks dirty, even the smallest amount i clean it up.

You completely missed my point. You keep going into non-related ramblings about your family and your past, your life, etc. Its clear that you get a lot of negative responses to your posts, but you keep coming back for more. You've got issues.

Hey I give you credit for effort. I am not trying to pound this in the ground, but you mentioned that the lt4 was stock at the beginning, and now you said that he had a bunch of bolt ons in another reply. Whats up with that? Again, not tryng to jump on your back about the LT4.

Anyway, goodluck with the car.

Ha ha, holy crap, I thought this board was great for information, but now I realize it's entertaining as well
I wonder how often this kid gets his *** kicked at school? Monthly, weekly, daily. And to me, "being special" means you have to wear a hockey helmet all the time and drool a lot
Sorry, but it had to be said!!

You guys are utterly rediculous.

Nice upgrade on the tips. A definite improvement in looks and it doesn't even looked half-assed (unless you see the zip-tie).

Alot of this board needs to grow up.

Are you serious? Did you entirely miss the sheet metal screws sticking out the sides of it? Did you see the restricted old tip still inside? This is the definition of half-assed. A nice upgrade is getting turn-downs welded on. They probably rattle all the time, too.

Alright alright... let's stick with the exhaust tips for this post, at least. I don't want to actually insult the kid.

Yes I saw everything and I am serious. I've read his posts many times before and yes - many of his "mods" are not to my taste or satisfaction. However, he's a thirdgen fan, he's a kid who has little to no money, and what he did is a definite improvement over the old look. Who cares if it will begin to rattle?! All of our cars rattle more than we want anyway. When something breaks, fix it. What makes his mod any different? NOTHING.

What we need here at thirdgen.org is more comradery and less "jump on the bandwagon" syndrome. Give little credit where little credit is due and thank your lucky stars that you even own a thirdgen.

Not to satisfaction? Wouldn't that be to say half-assed? Look, I agree that there's some bullying going on, but the fact of the matter is I'm tired of a post claiming to be open to criticism, then a wild reaction when some disapprove. How is the problem rectified? Gee, let's post about 20 more pictures and DEMAND some slack and accuse everyone of being a bully or jerk. If that doesn't work, what? Let's throw in about 6 posts in a row with one sentence or better yet, a sentence FRAGMENT, then more pictures. Still not working? Let's go back to defending ourselves about situations apparently nobody can relate to (age, income, etc). And if THAT doesn't work, let's try an attitude of "whatever, it's my car, and I like it", which of course contradicts the initial acceptance (or LACK of acceptance) of criticism to start with. Whatever... all I have to say is for the love of g0d will you edit your posts, or an least compile your thoughts and make one normal post rather than a trail of inane ones.

my thoughts exactly tpiroc. if u post be able to take criticism. look hom many ppl dont like my notch when i post pics, i accept ot with a smile an be on my way. im not gonna ream on them till i get the answer i like. im prolly on a more limited budget then anyone i know, ut if u dont have the money dont do it sloppy cause thats all u can get. sure it looks "better" but for a person who claims he takes soo m,uch pride in his car shouldnt be able to do that to his car. i know i cant. and whos car is this? urs or ur parents? cut the tips if u want.

yes he had a stock lt4, and he added many bolt ons later. Wahst up with that? Trust me, unless the dealership that he bought it from instlaled the LT4 i would have known.

And ive matured alot since i first joined this site and ive learned a great deal..I come to thirdgen when i have iquiries, problems, or even suggestions now and the one thing ive learned about TGO is these guys are incredibly intelligent.

You... Shane... are not. you own a thirdgen.. you dont know too much about it, and i wont even call you an enthusist because looking at your car i found myself shaking my head in disgust, then appreciating the beauty of your car. So i tell myself eh, your a kid.... and you get knee deep in **** creek with nothing to do but flail around. Dude.... Chill

You got some weird problems too, i mean i love my car, and ive done mucho work on it, in it, and around it... but when it comes down to it...its just a car...im not gonna stop my family and loved ones from admiring it (little ones touch it, thats how they admire things) and if it came down to it id sell it for my family. its funny, the few times i find myself coming back here to check on some info i find your posts, and through them i get disgusted, irritated, find the responses humorus and pathetic.

I laughed, i cried, i felt good, bad......

like i said those tips are perfectly fine, the method of how they were put on it incorrect.

From the start all this kid wanted was attention that why he said "Well they're new for me but they used to be on my step-dad's 97 Trans Am WS6 LT4(yes stock). " instead of just saying chrome tips my dad gave me. i think that only he needs to like what he has done, but if he is gonna post pics he is gonna have to accept there will be negative criticism.

i swear, you guys are hilarious. The tips wont ever come off. I beat them on there with a rubber mallot so i'd like to see you ever get them off. The only way i took them off for that one pic was with a pry.

I'm sorry if you dont understand what having no money is like but its understand able. I cant afford(nor am i alloweD) to have someone saw the ends off and weld on some tips. I just dont have the fn money.

Its ok for you guys to disagree with my mods, but to be stupid and imature about telling someone that they're wrong, completely stupid, and all the other things just fro doing somehting is completely wrong, i'm sorry but it just is.

I've never gotta my *** wooped once. Never people that knwo me respect me. If you dont and wanna fight since i'm a little scawny guy, i get my buddies to take it for me. :: shrug :: I dont really care.

You guys need to atleast experin ce no money for a little while, i mean barely having money fro gas, and the such is hard enough, but then to try a mod and then nobody like it is a self esteem blow.Backwhen i did the fur headliner, i spent the money i saved up fro a month or more just for it. I though it was cool, but to come on here and have ONLY ONE person say anything remotely nice about it was just stupid. YOu could at the minumum support what i do, but hold it in that you dont like it. Thats cool.

i am a major 3rd gen enthusiast. There is no car i like more in the world then a thirdgen f-body. I have dream cars but they dont excite me as much as a thirdgen. I meana Porshe 91 GT2 is my all tiem dream car. But having it will only make me seem, well more boring. Its much more satisfying to have a car that you bought cheap, and made it a million dollar car. I try to tlak my friends into buying 3rd gens all the time. I dont see why people think they are ugly. I just dont get it.

There is nothing esle(except my computers) that i know more about, i am a certified MCP(microsoft certified professional), CCNA(cisco certified network associate), A+, and Net+ ceritifed, i've even got my mouce cert. But cars are just next to computers in my life. I used to live and breath computers, until i got my car. then i was all interested in making is faster look better and it eventually took over my entire life. I live and breath cars now. My mom pays over $150 a yeah for magazine subscriptions for me. I do nothing but read my magazines and read up on mods i could do. I cant see how you think i'm not knowledable, there are certain thngs about cars i specialize in, and there are toehrs i simply understand, like the electronics of the engine, i have no idea. But putting in a headliner i'm the guy to come to, my style may be a little different then your but its still fro the same pursose to make the cars look better/cooler. Get that, thats all any of us ask is that you simple adjust to our style and live with it.

I know exactly what it's like to have no money. I'm a housewife/stay-at-home mom and my TA comes last since it needs the least amount of work out of all our vehicles. And we're not rich to begin with. Having 6 cars in the yard is more costly than having 6 kids most days.

And yes, I DO get impatient when I want to do something to my car, but I have learned waiting and saving for something quality is far better than running out and buying the cheapest thing that will work.

I respect the fact that you like trying new things, but bringing any older car back to "WOW" status is never, ever cheap and should never be rushed. Personally, I'd rather my car be boring for awhile than find myself regretting something like a fur headliner (just an example).

That said, I don't think it's always what's been done that upsets people, but how you approach it. You seem to prefer blowing 20 bucks on something spontaneously, rather than putting thought into it and saving up for something that will really look classy.

No offense intended, this is just the way you come across. You have to understand that it's very hard to convey things in text, and the way you write makes you seem both defensive and attention hungry at times, whether it be your intention or not.

How is that gonna happen with a 3rd gen?

I dunno...this is starting to sound like to me. You are looking for jobs at the local mall, yet you have certifications???

i've started my own practice. My neighbor paid me $30 to install a new lazer printer. That took me a whole 10 minutes. I think i can do this profesionally.

jobs are slowly opening up though. Soon enough i'll have a job. The local mall is getting ready to start hiring for the summer. And the retail stores already started. I screwed up 2 interviews, lord knwos how. I think i gotta start wearingmy cackies when i goto interviews from now on, i'll look more professional.

i can give credit where credit is due... if he truely is certified good for him... but he wont find a job for it... not only do i build computers, but i program as well... and believe me i have no intentions on making that a life calling... have fun tryign to find a job where you can excell at computing... cause the more you look into it the more people you find that are better then you... www.ocforums.com for one... *** i get a headache reading their posts....

Dude... talk to me about having no money... i dare you, cause i garentee you will lose...

the only reason i have money now is cause i got off my *** and did soemthing... and i agree, id rather wait and get the more expensive thing then half *** it... it pays of fin the future.

except my school paid for classes that took a whole semester at a comunity colege to get to those exams. Yeah like its easy.

GREAT NEWS GUYS, just got back from marshalls outlet store, and i got a job there and i start tomorow. I'M NOT POOR ANYMORE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I would get a job in the field i specialize in but i'm not 18 and noone hires for those under that. Its just how it is.

And if it sounds like BS, thats cool, i dont care i goto a school that gives those tests. heres a link to an article on my school(the only one of its kind on the eastern side of the US).

http://www.bizjournals.com/jacksonvi...10/story8.html

We have more academies now since that article an di've taken all of them. Each at the end you take the cert test until you pass for free. Luckily the only one i failed was the first cisco test, but passed it the next time.
