if your dad is overseas, how are you speaking to him so frequently about the lt4???...also is he's overseas, why not just hack the ends off now, once it's done it's done....by the time he got back you'd have the new tips welded on and no one would be the wiser

well cause you dont mess with my step-dad usless you wanna die. When you do something he told you nott o, its over. I learned that a long time ago. I mean this d00d snoops in my room when i'm not there to see what i've been up to. You cant hide anything. When he gets back he'll defiantley be looking at my car.

Theres email, but the only email the fhighly firewalled email for his ship will only allow strait text. No links no nothing special. No pistures. My mom gets to tlak tohim on the phoen every once ina a while but when the ship rocks the satelite phone goes bad so they can barely tlak.

I'm sorry if you dont understand what having no money is like but its understand able. I cant afford(nor am i alloweD) to have someone saw the ends off and weld on some tips. I just dont have the fn money.

Its ok for you guys to disagree with my mods, but to be stupid and imature about telling someone that they're wrong, completely stupid, and all the other things just fro doing somehting is completely wrong, i'm sorry but it just is.

I've never gotta my *** wooped once. Never people that knwo me respect me. If you dont and wanna fight since i'm a little scawny guy, i get my buddies to take it for me. :: shrug :: I dont really care.

You guys need to atleast experin ce no money for a little while, i mean barely having money fro gas, and the such is hard enough, but then to try a mod and then nobody like it is a self esteem blow.Backwhen i did the fur headliner, i spent the money i saved up fro a month or more just for it. I though it was cool, but to come on here and have ONLY ONE person say anything remotely nice about it was just stupid. YOu could at the minumum support what i do, but hold it in that you dont like it. Thats cool.

Shane
dude, it isn't only the fact that we arent supporting your mods..... just about everyone here that gives you crap is motivated by the fact that most of your posts are about every little thing relating to your car, in addition to the fact that you post so much. many of your posts are, like tpiroc said, sentences or fragments of sentences that are in succession in a thread...

don't take everyone's flames personally in terms of what you've done to your car, but try and think about how much you post, and what you post about.....

about your tips, i kinda like that turndown style, but i'd prefer them to be tucked under the bumper a bit more...

Have you ever stopped to consider the possibility that although your step father thought he had an LT4 WS6 that he really didn't know what he was talking about?

I meet people all the time that like cars and know some about general automotive principles...maybe they worked on cars when they were a kid or something, but they don't know squat about F-bodies...or Vettes, or whatever.

Case in point. A couple of years ago in a Denny's I heard a guy telling his friend and a woman friend that "so and so just got a new Z28, and it has a Corvette engine in it." And they all went "wow, a corvette engine?" And were all impressed.

Never mind THEY ALL HAVE CORVETTE ENGINES IN THEM.

But to these people that is a "special" car just like your step dad had a "special" car. If he doesn't really know what he's talking about, and the dealer doesn't either (dealers rarely know anything about the cars they sell), then its entirely possible he thought he had an LT4 car the whole time but didn't.

So unless you have a build sheet, or codes off the block or head casting numbers, it is highly unlikely it had an LT4 in it.

In 97 I don't think the LT4 conversion kit was out yet for sale, so the only way to have gotten an LT4 of any kind would have been to swap in a whole motor, and GM wasn't exactly giving them away at the time. There's a reason the LT4 SLP cars were $40,000.

i see where your coming from but he knows a lot about cars. In Saco(think thats how you spell it), maine, he was manger for 2 ragional i forgot what they were but they have a checkered flag for the logo and some words(thats my photographic memory). He quit when we went inot the navy back in 1991 or92 i forget. But he still knwoa crap load about the cars. I mean i had to prove to him there was a modern LS6 cause all he knew about was the old time LS6. A little outta date but he has worked on LT5's and LT4's, on the side, so he knows what he tlaking about, i'm sure.

O.K.
Let me see if I've got this straight. Your step father will let you hang all the fake purple fur in your car that you want, but he won't let you cut off some old exhaust tips!

See, that's my point.

Working at wherever (insert Autozone equivalent here) does not make you an expert on a certain car.

Even somebody who is very knowledgeable in general about cars may not know that much about F-bodies.

Do you realize that this car, if true, would be a 1 of a kind? Do you realize that no LT4s ever even set foot in the F-body plant because the only cars that were done were done by SLP at their facility?

Do you also realize that there was a guy who worked for GM in 2002 that somehow got an order through for a Camaro SS with an LS6 in it, and decided to order one for his friend too, and ended up getting caught and fired? Do you realize how incredibly difficult and ultimately impossible it would be get such a car built?

Hell dude, my brother knows a lot about cars. he's a certified deisel tech and was out street racing in the 70s when I was in diapers. He taught me most of what I know about working on cars, but guess what? he's CLUELESS AS HELL on F-bodies or anything remotely late model.

Just because your Step dood knows about Chevelles and LS-6's doesn't mean he automatically knows all their is to know about F_bodies and such.

How old were you when he got this car anyway, about 11? To a kid at that age if your step dad has a cool car and tells you X, you are going to believe X.

GREAT NEWS GUYS, just got back from marshalls outlet store, and i got a job there and i start tomorow. I'M NOT POOR ANYMORE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I would get a job in the field i specialize in but i'm not 18 and noone hires for those under that. Its just how it is.

And if it sounds like BS, thats cool, i dont care i goto a school that gives those tests. heres a link to an article on my school(the only one of its kind on the eastern side of the US).

~goes through University Coursebook~

So yea, no classes furnished entirely around Microsoft Certification offered here... the exams can be taken at https://www3.vue.com/ each are 125 (your school paid for it cause they get governemnt funding). my college does offer the same thing, but they do not have classes that revolve entirely around passing one exam.. thats just ridiculous. I say this cause i just finished my my programming course and i sorta got a chuckle at your post reguarding this...

Yea goo dfor you, get a job in programming, youll see its not nearly as promising as you believe...now a school that gives you a job in your field of study... WyoTech... go there... f'in A... if i wasnt goign for my doctorite you cna garenttee id be at that school in a heartbeat...

Back on topic

Does anyone aside from me find how convieniently everythnig has taken place? no pics of the dads firehawk (you own a very prestigious car and youve taken no pictures of it, no engine pics etc?) and his father is away in the service????

soudns liek normal Kid BS.. no need to lie on the Intraweb

lmfao a million dollar car with screw on tips that were installed with a rubber mallet. only thing you have to look forward to is MAYBE years from now you will look back and say " i was a ****ing idiot" its ok, most people do..

he might very well be gone..........hes saving my life right now so we wont worry about that but shane please quit bsing about this LT4. ONE OF A KIND it would be and im pretty darn sure your dad wasent lucky enough to be one of a kind.

but tell him to give you a little respect. honestly, if its true that he wont let you cut them off but put purple hair in your car then hes got bigger problems than you. let him know it would look better and would be free. then later get them welded on for 10 bucks.
