I think you just finalized my decision. I seriously need to seee these lights on at night. Please post pics when you mount them.
I have been wanting to get this stuff, but could never justify the additional $10 it cost to ship it from summit. Where did you get yours, and how much did it cost?

alright well here is my step for getting that shine,
Prep the surface of the lense first, then spray down atleast 3 coats of nite shades and then let sit for the night, or 6 hours like it says. Then get your 400 grit sand paper and smooth it down, then get your wet 600 grit, then wet 1500, then wetsand the hell outta it with 1500.
Have fun

thanks, that means alot coming from you man.
yeah all that white stuff is sanded off clear coat. Pretty cool, it dries clear but is sprayed on white almost, i think its just the air bubbles though.

Do you have another set of stock tails? It would've been nice to see you do one side and put it on the car to compare with stockostuff to see how much darker/how much less light gets through. Do you know of anyone with a TA around you that would let you pop a lense of theirs in your car to take some pics?

Now you gotta get a toothbrush and get all the little gunk that got left behind. They look pretty awsome man. I think we need to see some night time pics now =)

You actually took your time and did something right. Nice work!
BTW, some glass cleaner(windex), and a tooth brush works great for removing dried compound.

like i said before that white stuff is the powdered clear coat. When sanded off it turns white. It acts as an abrasive also so i have to make sure i whiped it off all the time to make the shine even better.

Does JEGs charge an additional shipping fee for hazardous materials like summit does. I couldn't justify spending $23 on one can when it was only $12 to start.

sure guys, i just got off work like 20 minutes ago and its pitch black outsuide so they'll be going on tomorow mornintg i guess. I dont knwo aboutnsanding them down again, that 200 grit seems to have advers effects on the clear coat, even my finger prints make it look dull, it really is that shiny.
I think i'll try it out as they are and if its not good enough i'll take em off and wet sand and polish again.
Umm it took me hmmmm 1 hour to clean and sand the first time, then overnight for niteshades to dry, they i sanded with 2000(15 minutes) and then clear coated and let it sit opver night. And right now is where it ended up. So it could be done in 2 days.
Also, the nite shades, that i know ow is pretty much only located for sale online. I never did find a store that stocked it. So i oredered it off jegs, and they sent me a free catalog and hat, so it was worth the 3 day wait.
And thanks man, i worked very very hard to make these the best nite shades lenses you'll ever see. Once i sprayed that crap on therei knew it wouldn't be the end, that **** went on very sloppy, so i had to sand it down and everything. Well worth it now. And i had to make my decision on the paint carefull caus ei didn't want to mix the types of paint, oposites will dissolve each other.

you definitely did a nice job on them. I wasn't sure that the Niteshades was capable of such a clean look. Please get one nighttime pic with them illuminated. Wish your camera didn't turn the lights blue, but it'll still give an idea of how it looks i guess.

yes i did polish them before blacking them out, but lots of treatments with dish soap quickly gets rid of all that.
