3 Aluminum polishes compared side by side, results inside

Ok first off. This is not a very good test so don't take it too seriously. I plan on doing a more through and controlled test with better preperation.
The polsihes I used are Mothers, Blue Magic, and Meguiars Professional
I already had a vavle cover already sanded down to 2000 grit (180, 220, 400, 600, 800, 1200 on a DA sander then 1500 wet and 2000 wet) I had 2 types of polish (Mothers and Meguiars) and I seen a 3rd type (Blue Magic) in the store today so I bought it thinking to compare them all.
I taped off three sections of one side of the vavle cover and gave each section 5 light applications of one type of polish each.
From the first application Meguiars and Blue Magic seemed the same, and Mothers gave a clearer reflection. Which was proved with every application. In the pictures The Meguiars is on the left, Blue Magic in the middle and Mothers on the right.
Now like I said before this is not a very good test. This was something I did on the fly really. There are imperfections and pits in the aluminuim from sandblasting and improper sanding (My bad on that one
) I plan to do this again with a flat peice of aluminum stock that will be smoothed as much as possible to reduce imperfections significantly.
Oh yeah and on another less important factor. Smell. Meguairs smells so good. coconut or something. Blue Magic smells horrable, like paint stripper you could pass out from the smell of it. And Mothers is somewhere between, doesn't smell good but it doesn't smell bad.

And a closer view (I have full res pics if anyone really wants to compare from pictures)
EDIT: OH yeah and for those of you that aren't Canadian, thats Canadian Tire money. It's like coupons we don't actually have bills for 5 cents here

looks like mothers wins, that's all i use at my detail shop as well.
i've done side by side of everything basically and that is the best cost effective product that i've tried thus far.

If you get the Meguiars liquid instead of the paste it is much finer and with power application I have not found anything that can beat it!

mothers makes great products...their mag and aluminum polish is great and their billet polish is fantastic for billet and highly polished metals :hail:

also remember though that they are intended for different purposes. the blue magic is more of a cleaner then a real polish even though it claims so.
i use the blue magic first and then go over it with billet mothers for a mirror finish every time.
