Well it came with the red, i just couldn't get it out of the crevices(the the first pic) so i sprayed over the red and the red stayed.

Probably Bud is to blame but, I'm a little (or even alot) slow as to what it is you are actually doing (maybe I missed a prior post to this ?) ?

I'm lost is that going in the filler piece in the middle? If it is thats sweet. I bought a bird decal at pep boys and sprayed my center section black then added the decal and it looked real good. YOu got some real good ideas man, plus the color of your car is sick!:hail:

yea thats what i though you have the decent lookign one stock mine was on the inside so i just had to paint it on the outside. That would look real good and it matches the car nice. GO for it

AhHaa.. now I see. That won't look too bad at all.
I didn't realize that came out since my original firerbird center section had a painted (?) bird on it.
I just went out and looked at the T/a panel I have now to notice that 'bird is seperate (and an ugly orangish color).

ahhh, i finally figured it out. You scraped the black paint from the backside and left the red in the outlining area. then you repainted silver from the back side. Looks good. you're really becoming quite respectable on these boards lately with the taillight work Shane! Question, how hard was it to remove the bird without cracking it? did you use a spray to loosen the adhesive first or jsut pry it off carefully?

That should look decent in there, how close is the silver on that bird to your paint on the car. I was never a fan of anything but the gold bird though.
Your tailights look nice, good job on those.

Nope I think as someone said earlier he painted it silver from the back side. You can see in one of the all silver pics how the outline (where red would be) is indented, then on the outside the red is flush. So all he did was paint the backside all silver and the red remained under the silver to show through from the front.

yes painted from the backside, the second two are the afters.
Since i'm an R/C car freak too(one that cost $300 and are fast as hell) this is how we paint those bodies(mad of high strengthn lexan). You paint from the inside so when it gets scratched on the outside the paint still shows though like normal. Its a ingenious method. I flip my cars so much its a wonder what they'd look like without it painted on the inside. This way you can paint in layers better. If you mess up on the first layer though your screwed, but the outcome is much better you dont ahve to worry about the paint not being smooth.
What i did was sand the stock paint off the back, since i couldn't get the red out i just left it and painted over it. But since its on the reverse side, the red still shows through on the side that matters.
Its complicated but you should eventually get it.
