I agree. Maybe a different font. But if you like it, go for it Originally posted by thegeneral

with a different font. From far away it'll look like the japanese lettering the ricers love.he he, i wish i could get it in hot rod, that would be my dream. WEll, the letters are already on there.. i didnt do the greatest job picking them out. That is not a photochop, but a real picture of my car. The 5 is what looks goofy, but o well, i like the stares and weird looks i get from people. he he.

hey like i said before its all in what you like not what everyone else thinks ......is it just in the pics or do you only have it on one side of the cowl?
its really on there. That picture if right off the camera. What you see is what you have... gauges are out under the cowl like that and everything.. yes, both sides of the cowl. i messed up your question...

Holy massive cowl hood batman....
I'm gonna give the lettering my "nay" vote, I was never one for putting stickers on the outside to show what was under the hood......

I like the idea, but I would use those badges that they put on the fenders of 1st Gens instead of the writing. Just put one on each side of the cowl.

The font matches teh wheels decently well.... could be better though. Dunno if you were going for that, but I think that part of it is a good idea...

the font looks like something i've seen on a honda before. not knocking just letting you know it' looks kinda "importish"
i say go w/ the one similar to the photoshoppe if you have to put stickers on it.
other than that your ride is very Nice!

I think it looks neat. though I wonder what it would look like in smaller lettering running the entire length (or 3/4 or so) of the cowl. all in all though...yea

I give it a nay as well only because I wouldnt do it myself. But its your car... I never give any clues to what I am running under the hood. I like the cowl hood though. It compliments the car real well. What kind is it? Did it fit right in or did you have to make a lot of adjustments?

Huge but cool looking.
The thing is, people all ready know i have something big and nasty, especially after you hear it. I have about a 1/4 inch between the cowl and the air cleaner, which is great. The hood fit for **** if that is what you were asking about... I wanted to get one that would go the whole length of the cowl, but i got these stickers for free, so i didnt pass them up. Its funny when people look at the car now, just to see there faces. sure have scared away a few cobra's with it. he he.

Same here...I have yet to get a challenge worth my time in my 406 Z28. Everyone knows when I'm around. Got an 80 series flowmaster with no cat. A cobra wound up a rev on me coming into town earlier today when he saw me coming up on him so I revved back and he backed right off. Originally posted by chev496

My car looks stock on the outside for now and needs paint so noone really bothers me cuz they think I just got a loud muffler. Just wondering if your hood went on without any problems. Your car looks tight tho.

nay...maybe in a different font but its your car bro

Nay on the font, although I have always liked the side of the cowl lettering. Then again, if you have a 454 in your thirdgen, does anything else really matter?
Supreme Member
it's just me but i like to be subtle....let the motor speak for itself. i have a litre badge still on the car that shows but at least they have to know.
now days your car can be loud as all he!! and it still doesn't make you fast. the biggest problem i see is without even knowing the driver of that car i would assume that they are under 18 which is wrong i know but that's the type of things you'll see in my area with respective aged drivers. i think it would look 100% better in a "classier" letter style. either way it's a nice car.

Know what would be REALLY cool? Go buy some of those cast badges that say:
SS
454
Like the '70 big block Chevelles had... that would look really sweet

Maybe the 454 badges that GM used on the '70-74 Corvette hood then... those were pretty slick Originally posted by thegeneral

The "427" in my avatar looks about the same as the "454" badges on the 'Vette hood.
