Any one have bare bones, no options thirdgen?

I remember a thread on a very basic 83 Firebird but can't find it in the search. Does any one have a very basic looking thirdgen with no options? Just curious how rare they are.

All this depends on what you consider an option! I have an 88 form. with WS-6, offset 16in wheels, 305 TBI, 700-R4, ect. All of this came standard on all form. in 88. As far as I know, you either got a T/A, Formula, or a bare bones 6 banger with a flat hood. Same with the Camero, RS, Z28, or 6 banger flat hood. I don't think I've ever seen a plain jane third gen. with a 305 or larger in it unless someone replaced the 6 in it for sleeper purposes.

There was a 84 camaro with the L4 on ebay a while ago. It was plain and it said it was rare because there were only like 30 left registered and running (I doubt that is true). But at the same time who all really keeps the L4 camaro.

I have a pretty bare bones 84 zed. Hard top, LG4, Auto, no power options, except a clock in the counsole. No air etc. Rare, not a chance.

Car: 85 firebird
Engine: Pos 2.8 pulled and replaced with a 350 tpi motor converted to carb.
Transmission: 700r4, vette servo, shift kit, hayden 15"x8" trans cooler.
Mines a 85. Only option it came with was tilt wheel. (should been called loose tooth wheel with the way they loosen up)

I have the ugly gauge panel with all the little holes.

Had a 342 posi in it when i got it along with the pos 2.8 that i found out later was cracked.

Now it has a v8 but im searching for a air cleaner that fits under the stock hood. I like the standard firebird look.

My 86 is a Sports Coupe with a numbers matching 305 LG4 (not trying to brag, cause the 305 aint much). In terms of options, I have tilt column, AC, that thing on the headliner with the miles map light, celebration thing, electric mirrors, power windows, power locks, and i think thats it.

My 84 was a pretty stripped model. it had a 2.8, 5 speed, t-tops and F41 suspension.
No a/c, no power options, no rear spoiler, no tilt, no delay wipers, no gauges (85mph speedo and a big gas gauge) no radio (factory delete), no dash pouch either just a block off piece, and it was brown with a brown interior. someitmes i wish it was still around it was a great daily driver but the original motor had 289,000 when it blew and LOTS of rust, so i just parted it out.

My 85 had absolutely nothing.

Hardtop, 2.8L, 5 speed. Manual windows, locks. Dummy lights. No hatch release, no defrost, no AC, no tilt, no spoiler, no gfx, nothing. It didn't even have holes in the sail panels for speakers.

im sure there used to be alot, i used to see alot of base model camaros running around, now if i see one its like "wow i havent seen one of those in forever"
thats what happens when you strip parts off perfectly good cars and leave them to rot, you end up with a few really nice cars, and alot of heaps for the crusher... which is sad, because thats the reason restoring old cars is so expensive, sure you may have had over 100,000 cars for a particular year produced, but 40,000 of them probably had a minor accident and were gutted by someone :P
the cars i really like, you cant find a fixer, its all or nothing, either you get an empty shell, or a completely restored work of art
you will probably find alot of maros without doors in the future, everytime i hear someone dents a door or something 20 people say, just replace it :P

I picked up an '88 Bird coupe w/LO3 and Th700. Had louvers on it. No power windoes, no power locks, crappy radio, 15" wheels, basic seats... you name it. though it did have the lil spoiler.

she undergoing partial t/a clone now though

tell me about it... I've been looking for a Project 68 Camaro to restore to original (except tires) for 7 years... its like chasing a unicorn. occasionally i'll find what's barely a body shell or a half a body & frame. But, you CAN find $20k mint babies... that takes all the fun out of it though.

LOL

Until i shaved my door handles, it had manual locks too....

My car started life out with no options, just a plain-jane RS.....no defrost, no power anything, no power hatch opening thing, no t-tops, cloth seats....

I do plan on installing power windows here in the future, but my main focus is saving to buy a new daily driver....
