Close up pic of rear window tint.
i plan on getting my rear window and side windows tinted 5%. I bought a rear glass without defrosters from flyitlikeustoleit in the atl. So now that i got the metal trim all sanded and painted i need to see some pics. I cant find a place that does 1 big piece around here, ny , so i need pics from the outside and inside of what the tint looks like. I want it to look good b/c i need it to be perfect . So if you have any pics from the outside and inside of what it looks like. thanks jeff.

Considering the time, I can only give pics from the garge ligting but, here's from the inside.. (it had to be lightened alot so you could see anything). The yellow arrow marks the seam between the 2 pieces. The absolute top is lighter because the place I had it done ran out of 5% so I did care due to where it's at. The tint is roughly 8 years old... well before tinting was much known about in the area I live. I do have rear defrost...

Here's from the outside.. the seam line and relief cuts are pointed out.. again... this was done well before heat guns, one piece or basically anything was 'pro' around here. The tint is at least metalized (and yes.. my poor kodak takes very poor, dark lit pictures)..

I don't know how hard you looked, but I wouldn't have it done any other way other than one big piece. I've seen some nice layered jobs, but IMHO, keep looking until you find someone who'll do it in one piece.

I had mine doen in one piece in the rear. it was like $90. just for the rear. Sometimes they will use two pieces and splice them horizontaly becasue they want to hide them in the defroster lines.
well i guess ill try and find some place that does it in one piece then . But i dont know how much luck ill have since im in the great northeast , plus you cant have side windows tinted here, the front ones, so maybe their will be less good tinters around. But ill check . If they cant get it , would it be worth it for them or me to order it from someplace and have them put it on ?
i cant wait to see the pic. What would happen if i couldnt get 1 piece and instead i had them do a double 5% on the back window. Then maybe they could tint the lines, you know start a piece in the middle of a strip line so maybe it doesnt show up.

lol double 5% on the rear hatch. it'll look good, but hope you know you'll be hanging your head out the window whenever you need to back up. you can see nothing out of the rear window backing up at night with 15%...double 5% would probably make it that way during the day
double 5% tint is reasonable during the day and at night you can still see through the back window....ONLY headlights, nothing else
I have double 5% on my side windows and If the windows are up, I can't use my side mirrors at night.....
