Shoulda been semi-gloss, but I wanna see how it looks. A few weeks ago I saw a black Z28 with the pockets actually painted semi like stock for a change and I liked it way better than them being gloss like the bumper and rest of the car. (besides other trim)

I like the flat.
I've had 2 camaros, and I've done that to both of them. My front bumper was replaced about a year ago, and the body shop semi-glossed the light pockets. It looks good of course, but once they start to fade, and get scratched.......rattle can flat black once again!!!!
....the flat is MUCH harder to clean, due to the texture. For show purposes anyway. You can't just wipe 'em off, you actually need to spray with water and dry it.
Just my experience.

My Iroc is bright blue metallic and it still has the origional paint around the headlight buckets, grill and hood louvers. Does anyone know if the origional black in these areas are semi gloss or flat? I'm going to repaint it shortly and I definately don't want any of these blue, but I really don't want them glossy either. By the way, I also like the contrast of the two different blacks.

I like the semi-gloss pockets on any Camaro... they give it that tough 'football player' look.

what i think about this topic is one or the other... if you got flat, semi-gloss buckets you need flat, semi-gloss grill, ect. if you have gloss buckets, everything needs to be gloss.

The more i look at it the more i cant decide. I think it looks fine and i dont think i would ever say it looks bad. The issue i have is usually when you use a matt black on a gloss car its to make something dissapear, so to make it less noticeable then the rest of the car. I love the matt on the grill but if it were my car i wouldnt have put it on the headlight pockets because it just seems like an odd place to use it.

IMO the flat is way too dull and not like stock at all. But I still like the contrast.
All trim is semi-gloss except for the T-Tops. Which are gloss.

This is coming from a kid with a fur headliner and who went crazy with silver spray paint on his interior.
therckid, this is a joke about the silver paint in the interior, yes? If not, then you cant possibly critisize anyone here.
