um , go with the sportlines, i have them and im glad i got them . I didnt want to go with the pro kit that it wouldnt be enought of a drop. The sportlines look really good and give it the stance that the car shoulda had from the factory.

What about scraping and do you have pictures of what the car looks like now?

worn out springs on a high mileage car will sit as they are with a pro-kit. if you want the car to look lowered go with sportlines but accept that you have to learn how to drive. i hardly scrape anything with the car sitting on the ground but you need to learn how to drive that way.

if you have factory wheels at spec you would have some serious issues hitting fenders with them.

my wheels dont hit yet. but i did order some 9.5 inch rims for the rear, so i may have a rubbing issue, but ill see, The reason the rear looks lifted is that I have a chrysler rear end and the axle tubes are bigger than the stock ones, which raised the points up a little bit. Im gonna cut some of the coil off when i get the other rims and see how it looks. I like how it handles now. It seems to be better. When you change the springs your gonna need an adjustable panhard bar and lower control arm relocators and u should bugdet some new shocks and struts.

I am so lost right now. You're saying my tires are gonna hit and rubb?
I guess all i want to know what size wheels are the biggest i can get without having any rubbing or hitting issues cause i'd like some 17/18s don't know how thick though.

I have the prokit and like Kandied said, they ride at about the same height as my old, worn out springs did. They handle pretty well, and I haven't had any issues with scraping.

If you are already scraping, lowering won't help

You drive a lowered car differently then you drive a stock height car, if you don't make the change in driving behavior, there will be issues.....

To get up your driveway with out the scrape, you have to go at an angle until all 4 tires are on the incline, trust me. I lowered the front with BellTech's (2 full inches) and the rear with sportlines for a 93 (about 1.75 inches) and I never scrape anything except the air dam. I had tire rub issues at first, but after a set of shocks & struts and an alignment, I hevent rubbed once. If you don't want to seriously adjust your driving, don't lower it. It's a pain in the ***, and I get the finger alot, for railroad tracks, dips, speed bumps, driveways, etc... Here's mine.

By the way, the rear in this pic is before the rear springs. I'll get pics of how it is now next time I wash it.

with the proper back spacing 20" wheels are the largest that can be fit on our cars with the proper 26" tall dia. tire. as far as width depending on what size tire and rim you go 8" wide up front and 9.5-10" wide out back is about as wide as you would want to go without rubbing or having to modify things..........again this is if you have the right offset/backspacing.

what i was saying is if you are running the stock wheels and stock correct backspacing you should not come close to hitting the fenders at all, if you are coming close you have a problem. my wheels are at stock edge spec and i can set the car on the ground before they rub anything.

Thanks for the compliment but don't sweat calling it a Trans Am, it is. Call it a GTA, Trans Am, Firebird, Camaro, Iroc, whatever. I call it my "Trash Can" so I'm thinking anything short of calling it a Pinto or a Bug is ok. When I first lowered it I had all kinds of issues but now, after driving it for almost 2 years like that, it is second nature to me. I look pretty retarded slowing down to a crawl at dips in my Z71 Pickup, but by the time I remember I don't have to, I'm almost stopped anyway. I put a new air dam on it every year because it does drag a lot (it don't drag hard, just often) and if it breaks off, overheating quickly follows. Also so I don't have a ghetto looking piece of black plastic dangling from the front of my car. I found a guy on eBay that sells NEW GM air dams for $30, so I keep a couple on hand.
I was reading in a mag about 2 months ago and think I may have found a company that has the spindles, the catch is you have to buy their brake kit too. Stainless Steel Brakes lists a brake kit for our cars built on a lowereing spindle, but I can't get a straight answer out of them for sure. I am on the lookout for another set of these spindles so I have a spare set, just in case.

i have sportlines

i have an odd question or comment

what would cause a car to be 1 inch lower on the entire passenger side of the car?

my entire passenger side of the car sits about .75 inches lower and causes my passenger rear wheel to scrap bad.

what the hell could be the problem with that? and as far as i can see.. the springs look to be seated correctly.

My pro kit has been on for a month now and I love it. Even with my original 210,000KM springs, the eibachs still came down an inch in the front and around half an inch in the back...

I opted for the Pro Kit, I have to go over speed bumps & driveways @ an angle for it not to scrape.

in reality that's the car though...throw some lt headers on the car and you'll have to do it at stock height. no matter what height your car is at you should take extra caution with our cars to go in on angles as it's better.

It doesnt matter if your gonna be able to make them look like new. That doesnt change the fact that they are used.

true but worn springs give a muchy jello like ride.... i know my complete suspension is dead

oh and about having hedders... i have hooker supercomp fulls and even with my crappy suspension i only bash em when i go over unreasonably tall speed bumps where even if i crawl over them my front end goes up over and bounces with the bad fronts struts and shocks....
