Wheel painting help.

As much money as i'm spending on paint i'd like the wheels to look nice until i can afford soem nice chrome vette's. I have the "deluxe" wheel i guess from 91 with the silver wheel with the teal inside spokes and the entire backside is teal also. Inside the weel i guess you'd say. THere are some spots where the clear is peeling over the silver but not bad so really it looks good until you really look close. The teal that is easily visible is ok but the inside of the wheel is faded and discolored. I ahve some dupli color teal that matched the car can i use this on the inside with good prep and lots of clear. Or is any wheel cleaner just going to crap out the clear? Whats teh best way to take care of the clear on the silver part too. Is it a decent idea just to strip the clear and polish the wheels?

Best bet strip and polish, then you can paint the color area with paint, I used dupli color on my gta wheels its holding it pretty good, one can should do all 4. You can't use harsh wheel cleaner on any painted wheels. best bet is to read the back of the bottle if it says it will work on painted wheels it shouldn't hurt the dupli color, I wouldn't clear coat it though, a good polish job and you can use car soap and water at they clean right up, if you wax them ever so often.

Polishing is a great Idea, but you definately have to do all 4 wheels. Its not very difficult just time consuming, but the difference is night and day. i dunno if this pic will show or not but these are mine, and the inserts are painted body color. if it doesnt show just click the link in my sig
