Iroc side decals or not???
Hey guys, I recently painted the car, which entailed removing all the old decals... now i am perplexed as to whether or not to put the iroc-z door decals back on. I know i am not going to put the stipe, but I am contemplating putting black door decals on.
Heres a pic of the car now... I am going with a whole white and black theme... since the pic was taken I added blackouts on the rear...

I also have a windsheild banner that says IROC Z as well... so i am wondering if adding the door decals will be "too much iroc"...

What do u guys think i should do? Keep it like it is or add black Iroc door decals. All opinions are welcome and appreciated. Thanks!

i think you should put the stripes that run around the whole top of the gfx. I think red would be a good color on a white car . If i were you id think about goin with some other colors. Maybe keep your mind open to other than original colors. You may find something you like.

Thanks for all the suggestions... Id really like to see what it would look like with the black decals and single black stripe... could anyone photopshop the idea for me? Id really appreciate it. Also, what other color combinations do you think would look good?

I ended up buying decals to put on after my paint job and still havent put them on. Some people no longer know its an IROC and I could care less. Do whatever you feel looks best on your car.

IMO add the IROC-Z stuff, stripes, take off windshield sticker, and paint the headlight pockets black.

I've been trying to decide the same thing for close to 4 years now, which I suppose in itself means that the decision was already made. I just like the simplicity of the car without the decals & stripes, although in your case with the 15" wheels, it needs *something* to break it up. I'd say that if you're planning on keeping those wheels, to suggest putting the stickers on. If you're going to upgrade to bigger wheels & maybe lower it, then the simple smooth appearance without decals would be my suggestion.

I like the way they look with decals, on the other hand I took mine off to go for the sleeper look...oh yeah and my dad ran my car through a fence back in the day which required a new paint job. Just make it fast and let everyone think it is an RS.

Leave them off. I'm the only one who needs to know what my car is and when someone asks what model yours is, just say "Thanks".

yeah i just realized u hav and IROC Z on ur front window..... SO i would either pick the decals on the doors or leave the one on the window..... TOO much, IROC here, IROC there..... To much IRoc... So i would take off the window one and throw them on the door and then add stripes

Keep it, and paint the headlight pockets.

Take that thing off of the front, paint the headlight pockets, lower the IROC-Z sticker, maybe put on the stripes, otherwise nice.

The car needs the stickers and black headlight pocket. That car also has 85-87 IROC-Z stripes and its a 88-90, I think I told you this before?!

The original headlight pocket color is semi-gloss black, not gloss, not flat. (same with all other black trim except T-Tops moldings, which are gloss) Repaint them semi-gloss to get the stock look, which is shiny but not too much. It gives definition without looking dull. Most people with black cars don't repaint the pockets since the car is black anyway, but I like it when they do.

Only thing I would suggest is paint the headlight pockets.

get the other color offsetting the entire car. That means headlight pockets

I would paint the headlight pockets the stock color though like all Z28's and IROC-Z's have.

My car had the stripe delete package, I put them on after getting it painted, big improvement to my car. On the other had white cars look pretty darn good without. Consider this 1LE example:

How about silver decals? Leave the stripes off, I took mine off last year and the car looks SO much cleaner without them.

ROFL Flyin.
ALWAYS paint the headlight pockets black if its a Z28 or IROC-Z.
To me an 85-87 NEEDS the stickers because all it says on the car is Z28 with the emblems. 88-90's can kinda get away with no stickers because they have IROC-Z emblems already. I like them to be on anyway though.
