painted rims maintnence question

hey, i have a set of the, i think early 80's stock z28 rims on my car, the ones that are painted, i included a picture i got from hawks of them, only mine are red, or are red now that i have repainted them to color match my car from there horride faded pinkish color, my set of black ones looked much better, however dont match my car as well as the red in my opinion, i just repainted this summer, and already the front 2 are looking dull dull red, as opposed to the back 2 that have a briliant shine after i wash them, they really came out great and i was wondering what kind of product i should use on them to keep the front 2 matched with the back 2, ive tried one of those wheel clensers, but either its a cheap one, or those dont work for this type of application, with the paint as opposed to a mag or aluminum, i dont want to wet sand they paint down every week to keep them new, or repaint them every month, is there a product i desinged for painted rims, should i find a better rim cleaner and try again, i dont want to use anything abrasive because itll strip my clear coat and red paint quickly if i use it weekly, and i dont really want to repaint them every month to keep them looking great, any ideas, or product suggestions

I use regular car soap on my painted wheels, and wax the unpainted part. If the paint is wet sanded and polished smooth you shouldn't have any trouble with the brake dust if you clean them regularly. You could switch to ceramic pads on the front to cut down the dust. Wheel cleaner that is safe on paint just doesn't cut the dust off well. Also you need to let the paint cure for atleast a week before driving the car to give the paint time to harden after painting them, otherwise the dust just inbeds in the paint.
