Too good to be true.....

My friend and I were looking through the june or july issue of road & track and I saw this page with a good selection of wheels. I really like the SS / ZR1 wheels and would like to get some....I found these. This was at the site of the ad.

http://www.discounttire.com/dtc/find...1683&rc=OHCINT

I'm pretty sure that is the correct offset / spacing and all of that stuff, but look at the price. Should I be weary? Could it be too good to be true? They say free shipping....the thing is I don't want to wait 8 weeks. But I really do think that those wheels look good on 3rd gens, especailly polished, painted silver is ok. I'm not a fan of chrome. If you have a car with these type of wheels please post pics, or any comments / experiences with this site. Thanks

- Dave

I got tires there, but there is a local discount tire, I had them mounted balanced etc. Decent operation on tires, but with tires you are dealing with name brands. The wheel ?? who knows who made it.

This is the only thing I see wrong with them quote from their webpage
"Lightweight castings are carefully finished to the highest standards."

They are castings, not milled from solid stock, there for slightly weeker than the more expensive wheels. But then again unless you are high end raceing, hitting a curb, or well 4-wheeling in the woods ive never seen someone warp a wheel.

well the reason its so cheap is in the ad they say they are replicas. so they can sell them faster and cheaper cuz they arent the real mccoys.

Looks about the right price for replicas, too.

That size would work too?

And no, I won't be 4-wheeling or high speed racing...I mean, its doomed to get a little banged up, especailly here in PA.....but that is the correct size for a 17 inch wheel to fit a stock 3rd gen camaro? If so I just might order them....

Dude, first off you can get those for way cheaper on ebay. I got my polished ZR1's off ebay for like $600. So if you're thinking about getting them I would check ebay first.

Since you say you wont be racing than you shouldnt mind an 8" wide wheel i would assume. Check these out.http://www.slponline.com/view_produc...RTNUMBER=81001

The ones I linked to are the hyper black wich i think is totaly badass, but they are available in the silver painted finish as well. They are cheaper and they are from a well know company. Also they are the proper fit for a thirdgen as opposed to to fourthgen offsets, wich would require spacers(and about another 200 to 300 bucks)

Is that hyper-black just like a darker silver, AKA "Black Ice" or is it like BLACK BLACK. Just curious, because from the pic it looks like its a darker grayish color.
