I took a chance I really don’t think anyone would notice that there’s no white lights. I looked for hrs to see what my state laws were and didn’t find a thing so O well. I broke the tabs off the first one but they don’t seem to do anything the second one I soaked it in HOT HOT water and it came apart very easy. I used some heavy duty adhesive like sika-flex to glue and seal them back together.

yea Im not so sure it's legal in my state either, but when they're on, it's easy to see them, so I dont think it will be much of a problem.....you just gotta think how many cars are out there that dont even have signals that work.....worst comes to worst Ill just use hand signals when a cop is behind me

does any one have a picture of the lights at night. can you tell that the color is slightly off? or does the amber on the outside effect it any way?

I tried to do mine. I pulled the lights and did inside. They looked too different from the other reds. There was no consistency. Maybe it was because of a different gloss. Maybe clearcoating would've helped.

My tails used to be painted, but it didn't match the rest of the light so i took them off. I got another set of stock lights from a friend, polished them and put them on. I can't stand anything less than perfect
I am going to try and paint from the inside next time on my old lights and see if that works.

Yes, I considered that, but it would appear legal to all but the sharpest of law enforcement eyes..... and alternately, I think the top and bottom sectiom of the back-up lens could be painted red inside, then a coat of non-translucent black to keep light from shining thru the red.
Just taking in the neat ideas you guys have come up with and considering a couple of my own.... my wife wants black painted taillights, but I'm not so impressed with that look.

I don't see why you you could get ito trouble about not having yellow turn sugnals. Newer mustangs tails are all red except for a little clear part for revers light.

I don't think yellow signals are required, but you DO need to have visible white lights in the rear when your car is put in reverse, if your car was made after whatever year they started requiring that. And I think Camaroguy18 is correct about not altering original equipment lens colors. It's pretty much a matter of how much you think you can get away with and how obvious the modifications are. Some cops are "a.r." about equipment, others don't look twice unless your light is dangling by a wire or two, Lol!
