After a nice bath
I cleaned my car up yesterday and decided to snap a few pics with my dads new camera. Tell me what you think!

These are the first pics I have taken with the polished wheels. I used the compound method to do the polishing, and they turned out great. They get compliments all the time too

I used this guide to buff my wheels.
Here are the steps that I used:
1. Use a dual action air sander with 120 grit paper to remove clear coat.
2. Use some 120 or 180 to finish the areas that the sander can't reach.
3. wetsand entire wheel with 220 grit.
4. wetsand entire wheel with 400 grit until you get all the sanding marks out.
buffing time...
I used a 4" buffing wheel with a 1/2" arbor to attach the buffing wheel to a electric drill.
5. Buff entire wheel with Tripoli compound (can be found at home depot)
6. Buff entire wheel with Whit rouge (also at home depot)
This is basically the whole process, but i went ahead and took some "blue Magic" wheel polish to them for a protective coat and extra shine.
thanks for the compliment on the car! That is a 3yr. old macco paint job that looks brand new. The color is a super dark green. If the sun isnt really bright outside, then people swear that it is black when it is green.

anyways, I have been looking for a L98 block to build a 383 out of. Soon it won't be a street turd, although for a 305 it does alright...

aredross...why would you get rid of the WHOLE car just because it doesnt have the motor you want...? and the 305 isnt that bad of an engine. hell, if i took you for a ride in my 'ol 89 IROC i had with a TPI 305 and a 5 speed (factory equipped with an L98 cam), you would walk away with a TOTALLY different view of the "Wee Oh Five". it would pin you to the seat and leave you with one question for me, "are you SURE thats not a 350?" yep, sure am, looked at the casting numbers to make sure...

yea, its called Linear Balancing and should be used for anything but steel rims. if you look, you have weights on the INSIDE of the rim too. linear balancing makes the machine balance the wheel/tire combo from the inside ONLY. made to protect the nice outer face of rims like yours...i would go back and complain. any tire shop worth their tire lubricant (worked at one for about 4 years) should know better than to balance these tires like they are on steel rims...go slap them, then post results...NICE RS!!

I think I'm going to go in and have them ballance them and tell them to take off the outer weights.
Thanks for the compliments everyone! It really makes me feel like I have accomplished something with my car!
